CUBI VI – 3D Model Design

Project Title: CUBI VI – 3D Model Design

Semester and Year Created: Fall 2025

Software Used: Tinkercad

For this project, I recreated CUBI VI (1963) by David Smith using only boxes to make the stacked shapes. I picked this sculpture because I wanted to try recreating its vertical and abstract design. It was tricky to get all the blocks stacked and rotated just right, even though I was only using rectangles. I used Tinkercad to carefully place each box so the model looked balanced and close to the original.

3D Model inspiration

For my 3D model inspiration, I chose the sculpture CUBI VI (1963) by David Smith. The sculpture is made of stacked geometric metal shapes arranged vertically. It has an abstract form that suggests balance, movement, and structure. I chose this sculpture because it uses simple geometric forms and strong vertical lines, which makes it a good reference for gesturing the idea of the sculpture in a 3D model.

Chasing My Design Dreams Final Project

Chasing My Design Dreams

Fall 2025

HTML, CSS, Sublime Text, GitHub

My choose your own adventure is about Chasing My Design Dreams and sharing my journey from working in dentistry to rediscovering my passion for design. I was inspired to create a personal space where I could show this transformation while practicing my web design skills. The hardest part was organizing the story so visitors could follow my choices and understand the big moments, but I solved it by planning each page carefully and linking them logically. In the end, it became an interactive story that shows both where I’ve been and where I’m heading next.

Website CSS Update

I updated my website by adding CSS to improve the color, typography, and layout. I used a soft lavender blush background with midnight blue text to make the pages easy to read and visually calm. Different fonts were added for the headings, paragraphs, and links to give the site more style and personality. I also used a container to center and space the content evenly so everything looks more organized and clean.

Chasing My Design Dreams Website Draft

My website is a personal “choose your own adventure” story that follows my journey as a 30-year-old mother pursuing my dreams of becoming a UX/UI designer. Visitors can explore different moments in my life, from going back to school and balancing work, pregnancy, and family, to taking small steps toward my creative goals. Each page lets the reader make choices that show how I navigated challenges, learned from experiences, and continued moving forward. My website combines storytelling with reflection, showing the ups and downs of chasing a dream while managing real-life responsibilities.

Sadness Animation Final

Sadness

Fall 2025

Adobe Animate

My project animation “Sadness” explores the emotional journey from sadness/melancholy to hope. It begins with dark tones of black and navy blue to represent deep sadness, shown through a blue ball that moves slowly and unpredictably. As the animation progresses, the ball transforms into a human-like figure that starts walking toward light. By the end, the character smiles, surrounded by bright colors and shapes, showing the transition from darkness to emotional freedom and peace.

Storyboard:

Animation Draft

In my animation draft, I used classic tweening to animate the movement of the text sadness and melancholy, creating smooth transitions that express the emotional tone of the theme. I also animated a ball that moves in a curved path, going up and down while changing size to add rhythm and visual interest. The animation includes two to three different background color, each showing the words sadness and melancholy to reinforce the mood. Altogether, these elements work together to represent feelings of sadness and melancholy through motion, text, and color.

Animated GIF

My animation shows the emotion of sadness using movement and color. The dark shape moves around in an uneven, drifting way to show how sadness can feel restless and uncertain. The dark blue tones represent heaviness and loneliness, while the fading and motion suggest emotions that are hard to control or define.

Backyard Soundscape Project

Title: Backyard Soundscape Edit

Semester: Fall 2025

Software: Adobe Audition 2025

For my final project, I used the same audio from the first part of my audio blog assignment. I adjusted the volume, pan, and added a compressor to create a mix with more highs and lows. In this edit of my backyard soundscape, I used mastering to increase the loudness of some tracks that originally sounded too low, helping them stand out more clearly in the mix. For the dog recording, I applied echo and analog delay to give it more presence and a sense of space. On the train track, I experimented with the Guitar Suite effect, using an old-school preset with smooth overdrive distortion and the Talkbox E filter to create a unique texture. For the airplane track, I took the opposite approach by lowering the loudness through mastering and then adding distortion to give it a more dramatic, atmospheric quality.
