I was definitely excited to try my hand at making David, and I will say im proud of myself, I think they could be cousins. The hardest part was the hair because I could not find anything that would work until I came across a chainmail/link that I just copied and pasted a dozen times or so, although unfortunately it appears he is balding in the back.
The first thing that popped in my head when I read what this project was about isss (drum roll pleasee) Michelangelo’s DAVIIIIDDD!!! I recently found out this statue is much larger than I thought it was and I wanted to do something with anatomy because I think that would be an interesting challenge to create with basic shapes!
I honestly thought about doing something with my towns history but that seemed really advanced and political so I moved on to something that fit better with the choose your own adventure theme! I love horror games so I think I may do something with on of the ghost stories of my town. we have an old state orphanage in town thats really creepy, and then we also have some creepy stories from out in the corn fields. theres really nothing lik staring into the abyss of rows and rows of corn with glowing eye staring back at you, not being sure if its a deer, coyote or something much worse. I also wanted to use one of my image assignments because that was also made because I was homesick!
I will have to add some pictures and make them super big so that it really feels like you are on the outskirts of town!
Definitely going to add some great pictures of Owatonnna, probably at night in Central Park; we also have a bunch of old buildings that would be good.
For this project, I created a short animated scene featuring Santa Claus running and jumping through a winter landscape at night. The theme of the animation is a festive holiday setting, using cool blue tones for the background mountains and sky to create a nighttime atmosphere. Santa is the main character and is animated to move across the screen, giving the scene a sense of action and direction.
The animation was created using Adobe Animate and organized using multiple layers, including separate layers for Santa’s running motion, Santa’s jumping motion, and the fireworks effect. Keyframes were used to control movement and timing, and different poses were animated to make Santa’s motion appear smooth and continuous. The background remains consistent while the character animation progresses across the stage to maintain clear visual focus.
This project demonstrates the use of animation principles such as timing, motion, and layering. The final animation tells a simple story of Santa traveling through a winter night, ending with fireworks to emphasize a festive conclusion. The animation was exported correctly and the original FLA file shows proper organization and use of Animate tools.
I made the decision to use a different sculpture as my project’s inspiration instead of the original one. I choose to draw inspiration for my 3D model from David Smith’s 1963 Cubi. I choose this sculpture because it is made completely of basic geometric shapes, such cubes and rectangles, organized in a composition that is both balanced and exciting. It is a good fit for Tinkercad, where I can replicate the structure using simple 3D models, because of its clean lines and stacked formations. I was able to convey the spirit of the original sculpture by concentrating on overall form, proportion, and alignment rather than surface detail.
For my final 3D recreation, I decided to use a sculpture from ancient Egyptian times. This Sculpture was the Nefertiti bust. I found the sculpture to be interesting and decided to use this as my 3D recreation.
For my 3D model, I opted to take inspiration from an abstract human figure sculpture. I choose this piece because it effectively depicts posture and balance while reducing the human body to solid, rounded shapes. The sculpture is a wonderful fit for Tinkercad since it emphasizes bulk and structure over intricate details. I was able to replicate the general shape and spirit of the original sculpture by using simple geometric forms like cylinders, spheres, and boxes.
I tried to make something of a horror game. I’m from Owatonna, MN, and we have a TON of ghost stories, so that’s where I took inspiration from! I went on Creative Commons and surprisingly found photos from Owatonna. I suppose Owatonna always did have a lot of photographers for a town of 2,000 people (it was actually 25,000, but it felt like 200). But we get our county fair right in the middle of town, which is where the Pronto Pups picture is from, and everyone in a 30-mile radius would come to join in on the festivities.
I really wanted to make the website game like so, I ended up making it so that if you chose the “town” option, you would have the choice of starting over or the button of “uh-oh”, and from that point on, you had only one button to press, which was labeled “Did you escape?”.
