In this edit of my backyard soundscape, I used mastering to increase the loudness of some tracks that originally sounded too low, helping them stand out more clearly in the mix. For the dog recording, I applied echo and analog delay to give it more presence and a sense of space. On the train track, I experimented with the Guitar Suite effect, using an old-school preset with smooth overdrive distortion and the Talkbox E filter to create a unique texture. For the airplane track, I went in the opposite direction by lowering the loudness with mastering and then adding distortion to give it a more dramatic, atmospheric quality.
