Name: DAVID

FALL 2025

Used Tinkercad

I was definitely excited to try my hand at making David, and I will say im proud of myself, I think they could be cousins. The hardest part was the hair because I could not find anything that would work until I came across a chainmail/link that I just copied and pasted a dozen times or so, although unfortunately it appears he is balding in the back.

Michelangelo’s David

Florence – Michelangelo’s ‘David’” by roger4336 is licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0.

The first thing that popped in my head when I read what this project was about isss (drum roll pleasee) Michelangelo’s DAVIIIIDDD!!! I recently found out this statue is much larger than I thought it was and I wanted to do something with anatomy because I think that would be an interesting challenge to create with basic shapes!

Cubi

FALL 2025

Tinkercad

I made the decision to use a different sculpture as my project’s inspiration instead of the original one. I choose to draw inspiration for my 3D model from David Smith’s 1963 Cubi. I choose this sculpture because it is made completely of basic geometric shapes, such cubes and rectangles, organized in a composition that is both balanced and exciting. It is a good fit for Tinkercad, where I can replicate the structure using simple 3D models, because of its clean lines and stacked formations. I was able to convey the spirit of the original sculpture by concentrating on overall form, proportion, and alignment rather than surface detail.

Title: Nefertiti recreation

Fall 2025

Tinkercad

For my final 3D recreation, I decided to use a sculpture from ancient Egyptian times. This Sculpture was the Nefertiti bust. I found the sculpture to be interesting and decided to use this as my 3D recreation.

3d model inspiration

For my 3D model, I opted to take inspiration from an abstract human figure sculpture. I choose this piece because it effectively depicts posture and balance while reducing the human body to solid, rounded shapes. The sculpture is a wonderful fit for Tinkercad since it emphasizes bulk and structure over intricate details. I was able to replicate the general shape and spirit of the original sculpture by using simple geometric forms like cylinders, spheres, and boxes.

“Oval With Points” By Henry Moore Recreation

Fall 2025

Tinkercad

I was inspired by “Oval With Points.” When I first attempted it, it felt too basic so I tried to make it more “bumpy” like the actual sculpture. Since it’s not a regularly shaped oval. I used more circle and rectangle shapes to add that “bumpy” quality to it.

The Kiss 3D Sculpture

For my design, I was inspired by the famous LOVE sculpture by Robert Indiana. Indiana first created this sculpture in 1970 in Indianapolis, and since then it has been recreated and displayed in many places, including New York City. I based my sculpture on this work but created my own interpretation using simple geometric shapes in Tinkercad.

While designing this piece, one of the most challenging parts was making sure all of the shapes were evenly sized and properly aligned so the sculpture would stand correctly in three dimensions. At first, some of the shapes appeared flat, but I adjusted the width and depth so the design could feel more like a real sculpture rather than a flat image.
