Night in NYC

This project is a choose-your-own-adventure story based on the experience of being out late in New York City. I was inspired by how small decisions can completely change how a night turns out. The most challenging part was connecting multiple pages together using links and making sure everything worked smoothly. I solved this by organizing my files clearly and testing each link as I built the site.

Website CSS Update

I updated my website by adding CSS for color, typography, and layout.
I used a dark color scheme and adjusted fonts and spacing to improve readability.I also used a container to center the content and create a cleaner layout. The site was updated and republished on GitHub Pages.

Adobe Animate

For my animation emotion project, I chose to represent the emotion powerful using abstract, hand-drawn shapes and motion. I used the brush tool to create symbols like a crown, stars, to represent strength, dominance, and confidence. Motion tweens were applied to scale, position, and opacity to show power building over time and becoming more controlled. The animation ends with the word “POWERFUL” to clearly communicate the emotion without using realistic imagery.

This animation explores the emotion of power using hand-drawn shapes created with the brush tool, including a crown, stars, and a growing circle. I used motion tweens to animate scale, position, and opacity to show power building over time. The circle expanding and the appearance of the word “POWERFUL” represent strength and dominance becoming clear and controlled. Timing and movement were used to make the animation feel bold and confident without using realistic imagery.

This GIF demonstrates frame by frame animation. What’s happening in this GIF is a small red square chasing the larger Blue square. I thought it was pretty cool concept for my GIF.

Website First Draft

I was inspired to create this story based on the feeling of being out late in New York City when the night still feels open. I liked the idea that small choices can change how the night turns out. The city’s energy made it a good setting for a choose-your-own-adventure story. I wanted to keep it realistic and easy to follow.

I was inspired to mix an eye with a cracked texture because I liked the idea of blending something human with something worn and broken. The contrast between the smooth eye and the rough cracks made the image feel more dramatic and symbolic. I also wanted to experiment with texture and layering without making the project too complicated. But Overall, the piece let me play with emotion and abstraction in a simple but effective way.
