Website draft

I honestly thought about doing something with my towns history but that seemed really advanced and political so I moved on to something that fit better with the choose your own adventure theme! I love horror games so I think I may do something with on of the ghost stories of my town. we have an old state orphanage in town thats really creepy, and then we also have some creepy stories from out in the corn fields. theres really nothing lik staring into the abyss of rows and rows of corn with glowing eye staring back at you, not being sure if its a deer, coyote or something much worse. I also wanted to use one of my image assignments because that was also made because I was homesick!

I will have to add some pictures and make them super big so that it really feels like you are on the outskirts of town!

Definitely going to add some great pictures of Owatonnna, probably at night in Central Park; we also have a bunch of old buildings that would be good.

Title: did you escape?

Fall 2025

I used Sublime text and Github

I tried to make something of a horror game. I’m from Owatonna, MN, and we have a TON of ghost stories, so that’s where I took inspiration from! I went on Creative Commons and surprisingly found photos from Owatonna. I suppose Owatonna always did have a lot of photographers for a town of 2,000 people (it was actually 25,000, but it felt like 200). But we get our county fair right in the middle of town, which is where the Pronto Pups picture is from, and everyone in a 30-mile radius would come to join in on the festivities.

I really wanted to make the website game like so, I ended up making it so that if you chose the “town” option, you would have the choice of starting over or the button of “uh-oh”, and from that point on, you had only one button to press, which was labeled “Did you escape?”.

FALL2025

HTML, CSS, SUBLIME TEXT, GITHUB

The original intention of creating this website is to help people who want to travel alone, those who feel hesitant about traveling, are unsure where to go, or worry that destinations may look very different from the pictures online.

Through this website, I hope users can feel confident using it and find it genuinely helpful during their travels.

Sometimes, images on the internet are not always accurate. Only after visiting in person can you truly know whether a place is as beautiful as shown, or completely different from the photos.

In addition, travelers from other countries who are unsure where to visit can also use my website to discover destinations they may be interested in.

Website CSS Update

The website uses yellow and brown as its main color palette, creating a warm and sunny feeling. After all, good weather is one of the most important factors when traveling, and these colors help set a positive mood and spark interest in exploring new places.
Some of the content on the website is based on my own travel experiences, where I share personal insights and tips from places I’ve actually visited. I hope this makes the travel information more relatable, practical, and enjoyable for readers.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Night in NYC

Fall 2025

Sublime Text, HTML, CSS, GitHub Pages

This project is a choose-your-own-adventure story based on the experience of being out late in New York City. I was inspired by how small decisions can completely change how a night turns out. The most challenging part was connecting multiple pages together using links and making sure everything worked smoothly. I solved this by organizing my files clearly and testing each link as I built the site.

Website CSS Update

I updated my website by adding CSS for color, typography, and layout.
I used a dark color scheme and adjusted fonts and spacing to improve readability.I also used a container to center the content and create a cleaner layout. The site was updated and republished on GitHub Pages.

WEBSITE FIRST DRAFT

The viewer takes on the role of the main character in this tale about being imprisoned online. They awaken to a digital world consisting of games, comments, scrolling, and culture all of which we deal with on a daily basis.

Each option reflects a distinct way that people become stuck on the internet:

“never ending scrolling”

“overly preoccupied with opinions”

“pursuing advancement without purpose”

“remaining in areas of comfort”

None of these truly lead to freedom, even though the majority initially feel helpful or consoling.

Selecting creation over consumption pressing record instead of watching, expressing instead of absorbing is the only way out. In a digital world that is meant to keep people confined, making that decision signifies taking back control and your voice.
