Open Source Software: The OpenLab at BMCC is powered by Commons In A Box OpenLab (CBOX OpenLab), free and open source software that allows anyone to launch a commons for open learning. CBOX OpenLab was created through a partnership between two initiatives based at the City University of New York (CUNY): the CUNY Academic CommonsCommons In A Box (CBOX) community-building software and City Tech’s OpenLab platform for teaching, learning, and collaboration. All have at their core the widely-used open source blogging, publishing, and social networking platforms WordPress and BuddyPress.

We’re proud to be part of an educational community committed to open source technologies.

Funding: The OpenLab is made possible in part from the Digital Pathways Project grant #p031C160132, funded by the US Department of Education’s Office of Post-Secondary Education, Hispanic-Serving Institutions STEM Program.
