Title: Backyard Soundscape Edit
Semester: Fall 2025
Software: Adobe Audition 2025
For my final project, I used the same audio from the first part of my audio blog assignment. I adjusted the volume, pan, and added a compressor to create a mix with more highs and lows. In this edit of my backyard soundscape, I used mastering to increase the loudness of some tracks that originally sounded too low, helping them stand out more clearly in the mix. For the dog recording, I applied echo and analog delay to give it more presence and a sense of space. On the train track, I experimented with the Guitar Suite effect, using an old-school preset with smooth overdrive distortion and the Talkbox E filter to create a unique texture. For the airplane track, I took the opposite approach by lowering the loudness through mastering and then adding distortion to give it a more dramatic, atmospheric quality.
The overall composition is good but the sounds are still hard to distinguish at times, there is a lot of noise that could be fixed with EQ or better samples.
