Introduction to Video Game Design

I will work on this even more later, I want to actually understand how it works and etc. Despite GODOT being simple, it is more complicated than I expected, but I really enjoyed using it.

This is the finished version of the godot game. I added walk and jump sounds to make the game feel more satisfying.

This games is supposed to be a short yet sweet platformer . from what I’ve seen, the player is unable to get past the start button. i thought i fixed this.

This is a platformer game. The main character is a wolf who hears rumors of a dragon. So he starts collecting carrots to trade with a rabbit for a sword that the rabbit dug up.
Here is a video going through the stage I have created in godot. I have added a button on the enemies that have a clear indicator that they can be attacked.

Here are 2 screenshots of my first godot scene. I don’t know what happened but the pillars wouldn’t have the proper colors unless the scene was being played, hence the color difference in the screenshots.

I am hoping on making a small adventure where you’ll have to jump till you get to your house, it’s simple but I believe it would work.

Thank you for your feedback. Based on what I’ve received, some of you like my jumping sound effects and the trees. I’ve also realized that the main issue is that my game doesn’t have an ending yet; many people have mentioned that the final empty platform leaves them feeling like there’s no payoff.
Overall, thank you all for your comments. I’ll keep working on improving my game.

Thank you so much for your comments and advice on my game. I appreciate hearing them, and they’ll be a big help in improving my project.
The level has a solid foundation and interesting design with enemies and sloped environments, but the objectives are unclear and the gameplay lacks challenge since platforms are too easy, collectibles are not challenging enough, and some areas feel unnecessary to explore However the traps are fun, especially the reset collectible and fake floors, and adding bait collectibles plus a player catcher would improve the experience. Finally, the footsteps sound continuing when the player is not moving is a bug that needs fixing.
