My twine project is a second-person, choice-based narrative adventure. Most of the scenes have two options. It will leading to 4 possible endings.
The protagonist has a ability to reincarnate as different animal.
Like the player, the protagonist will carries every memories from their previous lives into their next form.
The specific way each life ends determines the final endings of the player reaches.

To control the pacing and prevent the narrative from feeling too long for reading. The text will appear or replace as player clicks.
As the image shown above.

The bottom image is one of the endings, this ending is inspired from Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis.
Throughout the entire game is never mention whether the protagonist was ever actually human before.
Eventually the protagonist will be driven by the original nature of the animal.
Therefore the protagonist’s original species remains an open-ended mystery.

In terms of game design, the protagonist will becomes smaller with each reincarnation. They are all mammals until the final Ending 4, they will become a insect that are different from their previous forms.
In the two options in each scene contrast an impulsive action with a calm action, representing human reason versus animal instinct.
