Twine Week 2 Update

I continued the story from where it left off and added a variable that changes what happens at the mall depending on which friends you bring. I also tried to add a bit of foreshadowing when mentioning the game’s name if you choose to go to the mall with Lily.

Twine 2 update

unfortunately I had to start from scratch again because of my (no longer) laptop. I did expand the story and decide to take a different approach with the selections/options and how they effect the outcome but everything roughly the same I’m still working on the visual elements that I’m currently drawing

For my project, the concept I’m going for is a demo platform-based game taking place in a cyberpunk dystopian city where robots and tech are out of control due to a company, K.E.L.T.A corp ( << I’m thinking of changing name later on) using them illegally in secret to gain control and money. It is our job as the main character to stop them and whatever new projects they throw out in the city. I want to make the demo to have the player entertain by it style and gameplay while making it fun to move around. For the intro I want it to start off the character from getting back up after a recent fight that can have a little explanation, then having the gameplay start off.

For this week I’m continuing with the project. I’ve added a few pictures not in all links.

Twine Project Week 2

For this week, I decided to change the premise of my project as I couldn’t find a satisfying way to continue the story, so I switched the story to be a normal school life turning into something more fantastical.

I used images to emphasize the current focus of the protagonist, and used variables to make both small edits like making the protagonist do the same action in different ways depending on their clothing, as well as larger edits like obtaining an item due to a previous action that would not have been gained if the other option was chosen before.

Twine Project Update 2

I wanted to lay out the groundwork for the first part of the story where the main character can finally make some branching choices! I want to go back and add some more context to the scenes but for now, I like seeing where it’s going. The character can choose 2 different paths for the entire game with their own choices and options. I hope it’s not too complicated, but I’ll compact it if it gets to be too much.

Blog 2- Twine image

This Twine is different twine due to the file for my first twine corrupting, but it’s okay because I wasn’t feeling the vibe of the first twine project as much. This twine is about someone waking up in a forest in an unknown land with no modern forms of civilization to be found.

As I add more on to this project , I had an idea. Instead of showing the character I choose have them be a shadow. I wanted them to be more mysterious ,So I looked up shadows online, edit a few words and then I got this.

I added more branching options in the story and also added images to provide more context to the environment in which it takes place.

A few choices have different outcomes when a player takes an action, but loop back into the overarching story to stay consistent and have a cleaner board without needing several of the same passages over and over.
