Project Title: Composite Image Draft
Semester and Year Created: Fall 2025
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop
I used a photo from the Dominican Republic’s Carnaval and overlaid a bird image in the top-right corner to create a point of tension and focus. I played with the gradient map to stylize the image dramatically, adjusting color balance, curves, brightness, and vibrance to unify the tones. I also added noise for a gritty, printed texture effect. The goal was to create a vibrant, chaotic, and dreamlike look that reflects the energy of Carnaval while introducing a surreal twist.

I love the noise and color grading that was added to this! It looks so good.
Nice work, the color filters are really nice. I didn’t notice the bird at first, but once I did I thought it was really cool. I would make the bird bigger in the scene, if you make it overlap with some of the background it will make it more clear that there’s a separate figure in the composition. I think if you keep it in the top left corner but expand it so overlap with the figure on the right it will stand out a bit more.
