Moai

For my 3D design project, I chose the Moai statues from Easter Island (Rapa Nui). These monumental stone sculptures were created by the Rapa Nui people and are known for their large heads, simplified facial features, and strong vertical form. The statues are believed to represent important ancestors and hold cultural and spiritual significance.

I selected this sculpture because of its clear structure and simplified human form, which makes it suitable for reinterpretation using basic 3D shapes.

This sculpture inspired my project by showing how strong character and presence can be expressed through simple geometric forms and proportions.
