Our Week A Assignment will apply students’ understanding of Ethics, Social Responsibility, and Employee Relations.
In today’s day and age, it is no longer acceptable for businesses to disregard issues related to ethics and social responsibility. Choose a company that you interact with regularly (your favorite fast food restaurant, sneaker brand, or store to buy clothing) and do some research on their social responsibility efforts and ethical principles.
In a 1-2 page paper and in your own words, briefly describe what this organization is doing now with regard to corporate social responsibility and pursuing sustainable business practices.
Think broadly about what to consider: philanthropy, energy conservation, sustainable supply chains, reducing carbon footprint, fair trade, community service, volunteerism, etc.
Based on your understanding of the organization’s goals, what recommendations do you have for how to create a more ethical, socially responsible, and/or sustainable business? What practices do you recommend the organization pursue?
