I Miss My Dog and Hence This Lot
Fall 2025
Adobe Photoshop

For this project, I was feeling a little down and started looking through photos of my dog (she appears in the sunbeam and on the far left). That led me to expand the scene into a mix of animals I used to work with and take care of, placing them against the backdrop of one of the first times I truly experienced the changing of the leaves since moving to New York City. It was also my first real vacation outside of the city since I started working and was during COVID. This vacation was shared with a few close family friends. Since the assignment required including web-sourced images, I decided to add butterflies, fitting because I currently work with them, bringing together both personal and professional connections in the same image. Butterfly scales also make up the pattern for the text.

Fall 2025

Adobe Photoshop

In total, I used about 6 images (4 within creating my pattern and 2 for the composite.) I’d say my inspiration for this project was my love for skateboarding and wanting to bring a sort of crazy Jack*ss element to life. I’m also a cat dad so i used a few cat photos within my pattern (W cat dad :p) and chose a specific gradient map color I felt popped.

Dahlia Pattern

Fall 2025

Adobe Photoshop

For this project, I chose to focus on dahlias, one of my favorite flowers. Initially, I experimented with a more colorful design, but I later opted for a darker, grayscale palette to create a cohesive pattern that would complement my previous composition. The final piece is a composite of five different dahlia images. The most challenging part of this process was meticulously cutting out the flowers. I encountered a frustrating technical issue where I was working on the wrong image window, which caused a lot of confusion, but once I realized my mistake, the rest of the process was much smoother.

Penguin on the Street

Fall 2025

Adobe Photoshop

I decided on a penguin standing in the middle of the street because I thought it was pretty strange and a bit comedic. I combined a total of three images: a penguin, a street background, and a feather to make a pattern for the text. Initially, I put a single text behind the penguin, but I accidentally duplicated it, creating two. I thought it looked pretty cool, so I decided to keep it.

Composite Image Draft -“Pétrichor è Verde”

I wanted to capture the smell and color of rain, along with the rare green sky phenomenon that once mesmerized me as a child. The photo shows a station in Brooklyn, reflecting my sense of home. (*There’s also a hidden soggy cat!)

Composite Image

For my composite image, I added an alligator to a picture of the green on a golf course, a common sight in my hometown, St. Petersburg, Florida. I used the drop shadow and inner shadow effects to try and make the image more realistic.

Composite image draft

For the composite image I added my cat to downtown Manhattan next to The Oculus World Trade Center, applying techniques learned in class.

Here wanted to see how it how would look like as if my cat were that big, change the sky color to add a bit of surrealism.
