Introduction to Multimedia

My animation is nothing grand but a starting point; a bouncing ball.
“Sickness”
Fall 2025
Adobe animate
I animated a story about sickness and the effect it has on a person. The pink ball represents a healthy person or being “In the pink”. The little blue balls were germs or the flu. This was part of my first draft but I made some changes by having the germs move in and surround the pink and then enveloping the pink ball completely as it shrunk down due to the sickness weakening it. I had the flu and this is exactly how I felt.

For my animated GIF, I copied each frame and repeated the same pattern to create a square-like circular motion for the green square box. For the blue square box, I created the same repeated action.
Sadness
Fall 2025
Adobe Animate
My project animation “Sadness” explores the emotional journey from sadness/melancholy to hope. It begins with dark tones of black and navy blue to represent deep sadness, shown through a blue ball that moves slowly and unpredictably. As the animation progresses, the ball transforms into a human-like figure that starts walking toward light. By the end, the character smiles, surrounded by bright colors and shapes, showing the transition from darkness to emotional freedom and peace.

For the animation final I chose to build on my Triforce idea. I added the moon and the master sword as those are two big parts of the game Majora’s Mask.

SMILE!
Fall 2025
Adobe Animate
Final Animation of Smile. For this project I wanted to continue the fun with the shapes and see what I could get out of it. I really enjoyed figuring out the key frames and how long I wanted them to show so it could feel a lot more fluid. The storyboard was really useful in making sure I could remember the order of the faces. Every emotion I could show until I eventually got to my smile.
Story Board

A simple animated reminder to smile. Different emotions, all eventually leading to the smile. Fun to mess around with the shapes to create the different faces.
Calm
Fall 2025
Adobe Animate
I created an animation that shows the feeling of calmness through simple shapes and colors. I tried animating the main circle growing, as if it was taking a deep breath, and depicted the smaller circles floating away to show letting go of stress. The colors change from blue to lavender to show emotions settling, and it ends with the word “breathe” to remind us viewers to relax.

Day & Night Adventure
Fall 2025
Adobe Animate
My animation shows the transition from day to night through a simple story. A man and his chicks enjoy a peaceful day until night falls, when a wild dog appears but gets scared away by a small puppy.

Rainy Day
Fall 2025
Adobe Animate
For the animation project. I decided to expand on what I started during the draft. The transition from sunny weather to cloudy and rainy weather was fun to work on. I decided to add a stick figure person for the final story in this animation. You can read into the person entering towards the end in any way. Did the person want to come out during the sunny day but by the time they were outside it was rainy? Or did they only come out because they enjoy the rainy weather? Either interpretation (and more) are totally valid! I enjoyed using the tweens to get the cloudy and rainy effects.
