YOU ARE TRAPPED INSIDE THE INTERNET is an interactive, choose-your-own-adventure website inspired by my own experience as a YouTuber and the pressure of constantly existing online. The story reflects how opinions, algorithms, and constant visibility can make it feel impossible to escape the internet, with each choice leading further into disorientation rather than freedom. Visually, I used glitching text, screen distortions, and a looping glitch audio track—which begins only after the viewer clicks anywhere on the screen—to create a sense of being trapped inside a broken system. The most challenging part was balancing these effects so they felt immersive rather than overwhelming, which I solved by carefully controlling timing, layering, and user interaction; ultimately, the project suggests that creative expression, like vlogging, becomes the only form of escape

Technical Details
The website consists of several interconnected HTML files and one external CSS file. The CSS controls layout, color scheme, typography, button styling, spacing, and overall visual design, demonstrating the use of cascading style sheets as required for this assignment.
My Choose your own adventure was inspired by me being a marketing major and preparing to start a marketing internship in spring. I also love watching the NBA and want to work there one day, so I set the adventure as if the person viewing the website is preparing to work for the NBA. It was kind of difficult for me when I was applying color to my text, all of my text wasn’t getting the same color, however, once I was able to get help from the professor and get a solution, everything after (text, margin, media, etc.) was easy to do.
The update I added to my website is CSS to each page. I decided to use soft colors like grey and light pink and one bold color like purple for my anchors. I didn’t make any changes to my choices. I also changed my font sizes and center my paragraphs into the center of the page. I also added a border around my heading.
My first website draft is inspired by me. I’m a digital marketing major and I was able to secure a Marketing internship for spring next year. I’m also a huge NBA fan and have dreams of working in marketing for the NBA one day. Usually in shows and sometimes in real life, new employees tend to go out of their way and buy things for their new boss hoping to butter them up. I wanted to expand on that and show the possible outcomes that can happen when you do or don’t buy your bosses things.
For my choose your own adventure, I created a story about a corporation called Mojave Umbra Corp. Where hunters are employed to track and hunt folklore creatures with specialized toolkits. Each toolkit grants special abilities, but each ability has its own strengths and weaknesses. I decided to use a red background with a gothic font to give an eerie feeling to the website.
My choose your own adventure was about a student who had the choice of going out and exploring NYC on a fall day. They could have went out with friends, or stay home and read or venture into the park alone.
