In this audio update, I messed around with the normalize (process), time and pitch, reverb, and filter and EQ. I wanted to make the fireworks appear a little louder and also wanted the excited kid to sound a little more pitcher and excited. I kept the street sounds the same and made the crying baby a little louder.

For my audio post, I decided to use my video I recorded while I was at the Brooklyn Bridge Park this past 4th of July watching the Macy’s Fireworks. Alongside my fireworks video, I decided to add many elements of New York City such as crying babies, excited kids, the ambulances, police sirens and just NYC chatter. At the end of the fireworks show, I added a crowd clapping to show appreciation for what they just experienced.

Continuing the Domestic Morning audio project, in this finalization I decided to add panning and raising the volume on some of the more quite sounds happening. Wrestling in the blanket, walking down the stairs to the bathroom, and using kitchen items is where I took the advantage to enhance and add more layering effects to the ear.

The Sounds that move humans

In my project I wanted to give a succinct history of the sounds that move humans. I started with the sounds of nature, wind, water, animals. An orchestra warm up follows. This illustrates the beginnings of humankind’s mastery of nature and the ability to use it to not only move them about world but in their minds as well. The following sounds showcased the rapid rise of how fast we can create new modes of transportation, so fast that humans will leave the Earth and that will be left is the wind. I used compression and a limiter as well as normalize to smooth out a lot of the engine sounds. I think the hardest thing about the project was what I wanted to achieve and I had to restart it a few time to achieve the sound I liked.

In this edit I used the compression, EQ, and normalization to smooth out the mix down and I stretched the howl for a dramatic effect. I also moved the howl from the first sample.

For this Project, I increased the volume and added some audio fading in between certain sound transitions. I tried to expand certain parts of the radio audio from the beginning to the end. I followed a similar format for the Russian radio announcer audio. I also added an echo sound effect between the audios.

I am working what people have heard from the beginning of the industrial revolution until now and beyond. I started with wind as the main sound then a wolf howl to represent the natural world then a orchestra warm up as metaphor for the advancement of technology. I mixed in some train, car, and plane sounds as our technology advanced. Finally a rocket that lifts off and leaves only the wind and the wolves.

MMP 100 Restaurant Scene

Adobe Audition
I created a realistic restaurant scene. I wanted to do this because I wanted to see if I could recreate that environment well through strictly audio. I combined five different samples to create this environment. Some basic effects and key frame movement for the volume were the effects I used. I think one of the most difficult parts of this task was trying to figure out the key points of volume when moving the key frame on volume, just adjusting the volume and sound accordingly to the dialogue at the end. I’m the waiter :).
