For my first animated GIF, I illustrated the sprouting of a flower as it blossoms, with some added weather effects. I really enjoyed the creative freedom I had throughout this process. If I were to improve it, i’d focus on making the keyframe transitions smoother to better capture the sprouting motion. Overall, i wanted to keep it simple and use this project to demonstrate what I’ve learned as an introduction to animation.

This animated GIF project was a really enjoyable experience, and I’m very pleased with the final outcome—it turned out just the way I imagined. Since it was my first time creating a GIF, it took me two nights to achieve the effect I wanted. I actually made another version at first, but it didn’t quite match my expectations. However, that initial attempt gave me valuable experience, which made my second project much smoother and more successful. Overall, I found the process of making GIFs incredibly interesting and refreshing, it felt like discovering a whole new creative medium.

My animation shows the emotion of sadness using movement and color. The dark shape moves around in an uneven, drifting way to show how sadness can feel restless and uncertain. The dark blue tones represent heaviness and loneliness, while the fading and motion suggest emotions that are hard to control or define.

An animated GIF of a ball bouncing. I chose something a little bit simple because I can’t draw to well. I used frame by frame to move the ball towards the ground like its bouncing away.

For this animated gif, I wanted to do a drop of water falling down where it suddenly makes a gigantic crater which makes some sort of explosion in which all of it disappear, and finally the the water drop greets you for watching the show.

After applying the frame by frame technique learned in class, and how not to overlap objects / lines because they cut themself if not manage the frame edits properly. I hand draw the crater and other graphics with the brush tool, and created the water drop with oval tool. The rest was just managing the moves on the next frames.

I animated a person waving hello. I tried to make it seamless, but I think I’ve stared at it too long, so I don’t know what’s going on anymore! Adobe Animate is… interesting to work with.

my inspiration were those old dvd screensavers that would bounce from corner to corner. I wanted to attempt a perfect loop but i’ll save my strength for the project.
