Marriage Proposals

I sense from Chekok’s narrative that all three are quite self-centered. The protagonist of the entire narrative is neither the one who made the proposal out of love nor the one who did so but was accepted because of it. Marriage has no significance. I believe that the issue in this narrative is a reflection of modern humans in that we frequently act selfishly and without considering the repercussions of our actions.

Chekov also depicts aspects of a relatively conventional marriage. Although it is no longer customary for a woman to ask her parents for permission before getting married, many characteristics of traditional marriage are still valid today. A long-standing and somewhat peculiar tradition has it that the male always makes the proposal on stage.

I think the race of the author does matter when the narrative touches on race. Especially in the United States, you are very likely to be born in a different area because of your race, which also means that you may be classified into a different class because of the color of your skin. These factors alone will make you different from other people. experience, have different points of view, and when we know the background of the author, readers can also know from what perspective the author is writing from.

When they converse, the reader is reminded of what her father had earlier remarked about her difficult marriage. He assured her that if she wasn’t content now, she wouldn’t be content if she returned to being their daughter either, but she would be in an upper-class setting getting married and leading a nicer life.

In my opinion, the story of “Frankestein” is a story about slavery and really it is a political essay, exposing the truth. When the character Frankenstein always feels like he doesn’t belong here. He was like a monstrous character and was not treated well when he still had to do hard work but was not taken seriously, they took it for granted. They thought he was different and was only born to serve people. They oppress him and oppress his thoughts when they don’t want him to have feelings. As much as at the time, we can clearly see that Frankenstein represents people of color when they are not always treated the same as other people just because of different skin color.

About Us, Final Reflection

During my time in the class, I feel that I have been exposed to a variety of genres such as poetry, drama, and spoken language.. It can be said that participating in this class is really a positive experience and Happy with me when I get so much support and step out of my fear. I can say that my favorite part is the one- act play because when I was writing the script, giving the dialogue to the character, I felt like I was floating in my own world. And it was that exercise that made me have to learn a lot about the context to be able to write a complete play. Thereby, I see more and more oppression that women had to face in the past.

Besides, the poetry analysis also made me feel like I was relived in a historical period when I was analyzing a very famous Vietnamese poem about the optimism and fighting spirit of the ancient soldiers. . It makes my heart sob and the boundless gratitude to the soldiers. I am very happy to hear the comments and talk with the professor.

In addition, writing my own poetry also showed me the poems of my classmates. I can imagine the setting and where they came from. I find it very interesting because I have never studied like that before.

Finally, I would like to thank you very much for a wonderful semester, for the experience you have provided. Because your openness gave me a lot of motivation and overcame my fear of writing. I would like to thank the professor from the bottom of my heart.

When Armand learned about his family history, he regretted what he had done. Armand felt extremely guilty and thoughtless for discriminating against Desirée. It was the letter that awakened him when his mother was also of the slave race. He felt shocked and saddened when he witnessed the truth and was even more tormented by what he had done. Then, with all the guilt, Armand went to meet and apologize to Desirée.
Although really hurt with what she went through, with her selfless heart Desirée forgave Armand. Then he received a valuable lesson.

I think Chekhov’s (marriage) is ironic in that the three characters in the story are very greedy people.

Chubkov was a greedy landowner because he could sell his daughter for money.

Romov proposed marriage simply because he needed a woman. He has such low self esteem that even a little thing can make him suffer from cramps until he faints. Being petty, he would argue with a woman over a pointless matter and forget why he proposed to her. He never considers what dignity is for self interest, and interest is his greatest purpose.

Natalya’s outlook on life has only interests in it. She can quarrel with the person she wants to marry over a dog that has nothing to do with marriage in a state of desperate marriage, and can continue to argue while getting engaged.

The summary of the whole story is that the person who proposes is not because of love, nor is the suitor who accepts because of love. Marriage is not as important as a piece of grass or two dogs. In the process of this proposal, there are insults and curses. And the marriage proposal turned out to be a success. I think the problem shown in this story is the same as modern people, we are always focused on showing our good side to others, we only do things for our own benefit without thinking about the consequences.

The impact of colonization on the Indians can be seen from the beginning, after victor learned that his father died, he had to go to Phoenix, but he was so poor that he didn’t even have the money to buy a plane ticket. This describes the living conditions of contemporary Native Americans. There was another scene when Victor and Thomas are in july forth. Thomas said that it was very strange for Indians to celebrate this festival because he felt that this festival had nothing to do with them. This shows that Indians are confused about their identity.

Although Oseki married into a wealthy family from an ordinary family, in a marriage without feelings, Oseki is more like a reproductive tool for passing on the family line. Disliked and scolded by her husband, although she doesn’t have to worry about the basic needs of life, it makes her feel that she has lost her dignity, and even has the idea of divorce.

However, Oseki’s ideas did not get her father’s support. Her father was conservative in his thinking, and feudal hierarchy thoughts were deeply rooted in him. Although he felt sorry for his daughter’s experience, he still asked Oseki to return to her husband. Under the double shackles of paternal rights and husband rights, Oseki is unable to fight against fate, and can only return to her husband again. Although she pursues freedom and yearns for equality, it is difficult for her to get rid of the heavy shackles on her body.
