  1. Module 2: Who are families

1- How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working?
What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class?

I am learning a lot about the development of the fetus and how all the development of the baby that will become a child and then an adult affects its growth including future diseases. It is interesting to know that the child begins to learn from the womb and that some milestones that the child cannot reach may have been caused during pregnancy. It is important to know this in order to help the child to develop in the best possible way, and I am really happy to be learning all this in depth. I don’t think anything has to be changed. Along the way I want to learn the most I can to create a space where every child I teach feels like home and loved. I have never taken an online class. This is my first. I decided not to take any classes during the pandemic because they were all online (we are still in a pandemic unfortunately) and the experience of doing everything online scares me so much. I focus more if I am in a classroom, if I am physically present. But so far everything is going well thank God.

2- How do you define family?

For me a family is the cradle of life and love. Also for me is any group of people who grow together, are there to learn from each other and teach each other along the way . They give you love, and face the difficulties of life together.

3- Which article did you choose? Why?

The article I chose was “Welcoming families with children who were adopted” This article caught my attention because it has always been a dream of mine to adopt. More than the desire to have a child of my own. In my personal opinion there are many children out there who need to be welcomed and filled with love and understanding. I love working with children, with different needs. I like the challenge of being able to teach and help these children and families with needs. When I say needs I mean that when an adopted child enters preschool classrooms, his or her cognitive and emotional development may have been compromised, not because of the adoption itself, but because of experiences prior to adoption. Adopted children usually have specific needs and require extra help to be able to join the school rhythm.

4- What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths?

In the Article “Welcoming families with children who were adopted”
Teachers can support the child and family and become families by sharing their knowledge and experience. They can work together to help the child meet his needs. A healthy relationship with the educator is essential for the child to feel included to learn and develop. Teachers can create an adoption friendly classroom that would help the child feel like home. And the best way to help these children is through communication and learning about the child. (Welcoming families with children who were adopted 2014 )

In the video “Our Family: A film about family Diversity”
They discuss that a family, to be a family does not always need a dad and that a family can have two dads. The importance is the love they give and receive. Also teach children that all families don’t look the same. There is so much beauty in Diversity and multigenerational families. These families are important at a school so kids know how to include everyone. Children are able to interact not only with kids that look physically like themselves but also with different features. So they are able to reach out and embrace everybody. Another strength of the family in the video is their form of communicating with their children (Our Family: A film about family Diversity 2016)

5- What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face?

In the Article “Welcoming families with children who were adopted”
children present learning difficulties. Stimulation and early learning, the language in cases of international adoptions, are factors that affect children’s learning, which can lead to learning difficulties. Difficulties in establishing attachment and relationships with adults and their peers. Also Problems of adaptation to the environment. (Welcoming families with children who were adopted 2014 )

In the video “Our Family: A film about family Diversity” one of the challenges mentioned in the video was the language. Some families come from different countries and struggle with the language and adaptation. Also acceptance of diversity. (Our Family: A film about family Diversity 2016)

6- Which model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 in Module 2 are the program staff using to work with families? Give specific evidence to support your response.

The program staff use relationship-based programming by communicating with the families and providing resources needed to help their children grow. In the video; “Our Family: A film about family Diversity 2016” They allow respect in the classroom as shown in video where children are accepted for who they are, and embrace diversity. Also the teacher explained how families are not only mom dad and child but it could also be without a dad and it can be two dads. Family comes in different forms.

The Baker & Manfretti/ Petit 2004 also stated that adult child attachment is a part of a child’s everyday life. Because attachments teach children to interpret emotions and behavior and they develop an understanding of relation. Children who form positive attachments to their caregiver benefit from those relationships (Hong 2002s 2002b) Adult- Adult relationship is important because it builds communication, friendship, and trust. Children receive better care and they see positive role models. Caregivers feel at home and families feel included. All of this applies to welcoming families with children who were adopted. Because they touch upon the fact that when a family comes together with the teacher/caregiver they can help the child develop in the best way possible and make them feel at home at school.

    1. Identify a colleague who read a different article than you did. In your response, explain how the strengths of the families you read about and your colleague read about are similar and how they are different. How are the challenges the families face similar and different?

This specific article was similar to mine because in both articles they teacher played an important an important role which was supporting the family. The articles were different because one dealt with a child that required special needs and the other was about a child who was adopted, which is an intentional life transition for grownups. The challenges that the families faced were similar because they both had to adapt to this change within their families. The challenges were different because its two different families with two different struggles and feelings.

    2. The strengths of the families I’ve read about which was “Supporting Medically Fragile Children and Their Families” is similar to “Welcoming families with children who were adopted” because these are children’s who are being brought to a different environment that isn’t their home. For example, in the text I was reading, the baby was brought to a lab where his families were not around and took him a while to adapt in that environment. Trust needed to be built during the process because it isn’t very much easy. And it is different because “Welcoming families with children who were adopted”is more like a child being adopted to another family for the rest of their life and my text was about a baby who will be at a child care away from the parent for a few hours.

    3. Madeline — Thanks for your comment in this activity. I am glad things are going well for you taking an on-line class. I wonder, what strategies did you identify in the videos in Module 1 to support your success as a student in an online course? How are those strategies working? You share a broad definition of family; I wonder, how does that connect to your family? You mention language as challenges that families in the article you read and the video face; I wonder, what can infant teachers do to support multilingual families &/or children adopted from counties who speak languages other than English?

  2. 1. How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working? What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class?

Answer: The strategy that I picked is Time management and it is been working pretty well while I take my time to do one thing at a time or multi-task. I Think i can improve on trying to do one thing at a time and create a plan for it. I have learned that I enjoy having online classes because its better for me since I am a mom.

    How do you define family?

Answer; Family is where you Can find love and peace. Where you can feel comfortable and Heard. It doesn’t matter how it looks like or who is part of it as long as you feel safe and loved.

Which article did you chose? Why?

Answer; I choose Paula & da-Silva (2014), because its a Great example of the important of love and that it doesn’t matter even if a Family is by same sex parents.

What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths? Give evidence to support your answer.

Answer; In the article, “Engaging Families: Partnering in Meaningful ways” it talks about the importance in accepting and being welcoming children with parents who have the same gender. As we could see in the article, Kelly learned from one of her Students, Mario that creating a safe environment and that sometimes parents don’t want to be open about their differences (Supporting Gay and Lesbian Families in the Early Childhood Classroom, 2014)

In the video, “Our Family:A Film about a Family Diversity” Int he video we were able to Watch also another Great example of some of the different strength that families have and the diverse of scenarios and cases that are part of a teacher’s classrooms. Vivian is one of the great examples because she has two moms and she feels comfortable sharing that with her classmates that refer to her that she has “two moms”.

What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face? Give evidence to support your answer

Some of the challenges that I’ve could’ve observe in the article, “Engaging Families: Partnering in Meaningful ways” is that sometimes families that are sex gender feel uncomfortable to share and be part of their kid’s school activities. (Supporting Gay and Lesbian Families in the Early Childhood Classroom, 2014)
Some of the challenges that I saw on the video “Our Family:A Film about a Family Diversity” is that as well as in the article parents tend too not feel very comfortable when they get to snare this with their kids or school because they are afraid of being judged.

Which model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 in Module 2 are the program staff using to work with families? Give specific evidence to support your response.

Answer; One of the model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 is the communication part to work with families, they are establishing a welcoming and helpful communication so they can make the parents feel more better with their kid’s classroom experience.

    1. Dayeli — Thanks for your comment in this activity. Finding “peace” within a family sounds blissful; I know many families aspire & wish for that. I wonder, why did you choose Paula & da Silva (2014)? I wonder, how would you feel if you felt you had to hide some element of your family from your school/ teachers?

  3. 1.How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working? What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class?
I feel as though my strategies have been working well. I have been checking for updates daily. It has recently hit me that there is major work and assignments that need to be done for seminar and lecture, so know that I have that information clear in my head, I will definitely be on top of my studies. Something that may need to change would be to download and use the remind app. I actually downloaded the app this evening. I believe it will be very useful toward success in this class. I have learned that I have a lot of experience that I would love to share with my peers, as well as learn from everyone in the classroom community.

2.How do you define family? I define family as a group of individuals who love each other and genuinely want the best for one another.

3.Which article did you chose? Why? The article I chose was Ray, at el 2009. I did not go through the articles. I randomly picked this article based on the year that my son was born.

4.What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths? The family in the reading titled “Partnering with families of children with special needs”, showed major strength. They had to learn how to except the fact that the baby that had dreamed about died and now had a baby that they knew nothing about (Ray et al,2009). The family showed strength by overcoming their feeling of what may be fear and got their child the help that she needed. They were sure she got an IFSP, as well as an IEP when the time came transition. In the video ” Our Family”, the parents displayed strengths such as bravery and also acceptance. Choosing to love their child no matter what gender they identified as was a way they modeled strength.

5.What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face? The challenges that the family is undergoing in the reading “Partnering with families of children with special needs”, are having to adjust their schedules to accommodate the child’s therapy sessions or doctors appointments. A challenge would also be making sure they understand and learn about the disability of their child and come up with a specific plan for the success of the child. Challenges faced in the video “Our Family”, would be some of the families being made up of different skin tones, and the families with two moms or two dads in the household.

Which model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 in Module 2 are the program staff using to work with families? Give specific evidence to support your response. Communication is the programming from Baker & Manfretti/Petit, 2004 in which the program staff is using. In the documentary they show the children at circle time sharing their idea of what family means and looks like. They also allowed the families to come into the class and engage in what is happening. Two of the grandparents were able to come into the classroom and set up a math center as well as a listening center.

    1. The struggles of the families we both read about have a lot of similarities as well as differences. The family from your article felt as though they had a baby they knew nothing about and the same go for the families I read about. Parents who adopt their children need to really work hard on learning who their child is. In addition a similarity i saw was that there are different races in the household which is difficult for a child. The parents were able to get help on learning how to raise their child in both of the articles we read.

    2. Identify a colleague who read a different article than you did. In your response, explain how the strengths of the families you read about and your colleague read about are similar and how they are different. How are the challenges the families face similar and different?

The similarities between these two articles : “Partnering with families of children with special needs” and “Welcoming families with children who were adopted 2014” is that in both teachers play an important role in educating and helping the child develop in the best way possible. The teacher and the family need to work together in order to help the child meet his needs because the best way to help these children is through communication and learning about the child. Teachers are able to adapt the classroom to their needs. The difference is that working with a child who has special needs requires different attention than a child who is adopted, adaptation is something both kids have to learn. But as far as learning they would learn with different techniques. And the environment in the class would be different. A child with special needs might be placed in a classroom with fewer children because they require more special attention one on one. An adopted child needs to adapt to an environment where there are more kids and the attention doesn’t exclusively go to him/her.

    3. Ari — Thanks for your comment in this activity. I hope you find the Remind app helpful! When families genuinely want what’s best for each other it enables people to be successful. Families who have a child with a disability have to grieve the child they “dreamed” of (this connects to Galinksy’s 6 stages of Parenting from Module 1 in ECE 209-Lecture) and then go through the process of accepting the child they have. It is a complicated process for many families.

  4. 1. How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working? What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class?
In module 1 one of my goals was to learn how to take care of infants not only in the school but also at home. I can see this goal being met by the reading I chose for this week. This is my second semester online and I really enjoy it. I have learned that I am good at organizing my time and to enjoy my work.
    2. How do you define family?
I define family as someone who takes care of you, someone that you love and trust, someone you have history with or more importantly want to make a history with.
    3. Which article did you chose? Why?
The reading I chose for this week was Fox (2012). I chose this article because I thought it would meet my goal of learning about infants in their home environment as well.
    4. What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths?
Learning how to raise a child that is adopted can be a bit of a tricky process however it is such a strength for the family that they have teachers in the school that can help them get through it. They can help the family assess the child and determine when they need assistance (Fox, 2012). Teachers also can help the child form healthy attachments from an early age.
    5. What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face?
Obviously with all families there are tons of strengths that they all have but there are many challenges they have to go through and overcome. Fox (2012) is an article that talks about adopted kids and how to make the change into their new life easier for them. I was able to learn more about the hardship of children who were adopted such as the fact that children who were underfed, when first joining their forever families get overwhelmed by the abundance of food (Fox, 2012). In addition to that I was able to learn that children who were adopted were more likely to have delays in this area when compared to their peers (Fox 2012).
    6. Which model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 in Module 2 are the program staff using to work with families? Give specific evidence to support your response.
The model of programming the staff is using to work with families is relationships. Relationships with teachers help make the children gain healthier emotional responses as well as healthier relationships in the future.

    1. I read the article, “Supporting Medically Fragile Children & Their Families”. One of the similarities I noticed you shared is the fact that a teacher’s goal is to create an attachment with the child and assist their needs in the best of ways. The difference is the fact that in the article that I read, this goal was important to reach since they were dealing with an infant who had medical problems. When it comes to challenges, both articles had to deal with children being introduced to new settings. In my article though, the child was being introduced to a setting with different teachers and other children.

    2. Jenna — Thanks for your comment in this activity. Love, trust and caring seem like important elements of a supportive family. Many children who are adopted do face hardships prior to being adopted; I wonder, how can infant teachers support children & families with those expereinces?

  5. 1. In Module 1, I stated that I will be writing down dates for when coursework is due. It has been helpful these past two weeks. I do need to improve on my time management skills, so I can have extra time for extra work if needed. I have learned that it can be difficult to find certain assignments in an online setting. But I do enjoy it since I can have a flexible schedule, thanks to online classes.

    2. My favorite phrase to define family is by OHANA (LILO & STITCH), which means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.

    3. I chose the article, “Supporting Medically Fragile Children and Their Families”. I chose this article because I would be gaining knowledge as an early childhood educator, of what to do in these types of situations.

    4. The family in the article “Supporting Medically Fragile Children and Their Families”, was able to answer and ask all the necessary questions in order to keep Leshawn healthy. The mother worked great with the caregivers, thanks to ongoing communication and being there when her son needed him, in order to slowly adapt. In the video“Our Family”, the families showed different types of strengths such as acceptance and unity.

    5. In the article, “Supporting Medically Fragile Children and Their Families” the family put their trust in the caregivers and were forced to little by little let their fear go. It took courage to be able to leave their son who is sick in a new setting, especially as an infant. In the video, “Our Family”, families had to deal with challenges such as co-parenting, being a single parent, and being parents of the same sex.

    6. In Baker & Manfretti/Petit,2004 the model the staff is using to work with families is building relationships. Relationships help infants feel secure and give them the confidence to grow as children. Children need love and security when growing up in order to be able to express themselves freely, without any fear. “To develop a healthy sense of self, children need to be cared for by adults who take the time to attune to their emotions and understand their cues” (2004).

    1. Marisol — Thanks for your comment in this activity. Not leaving anyone behind seems like an important element to a supportive family. Thanks for sharing OHANA with me! Putting your medically fragile child in the care of teachers can be terrifying for families; I wonder, what can infant teachers do to support families in this process?

  6. 1. The strategy which was “staying up to date” I have identifies is actually working. I make sure every morning to go on the ‘remind” app to check if I have a message whether I have any assignments due that I may have not started. As a student in an online class, I have learned that I must be consistent and getting all my work done when I have my free time.

    2. I define family more like a group of parents and their children including genes that passes on to make others as relatives like cousins, niece, aunty, etc…

    3. The article I chose was “Supporting Medically Fragile Children and Their Families” because it is important to understand how families, non families, and non parental supports children with special needs in order to build trust.

    4. The strengths of the families make sure that their child is well and are taking their medications that is needed to be taken to get better. Parents demonstrated those strengths by being aware of their child’s medical needs uniquely and socially and figuring out what specific things or activities may trigger the child and how it should be taken care of.

    5. The challenges families face is trusting non parental and non family members. For example, the child’s care-giver. In this text, Leshawn’s mother knew how sick he was like going in and out of his whole infancy. Julia and Monique, the care-givers wanted to learn about Leshawn and writing detailed care plan to connect with his families and building a trust bond when their not around.

    6. “The Family Model” is a relationship-based child care as its model the loving web of relationships that surrounds a child in a well-functioning extended family. In the text, “In Baker and Manfretti/Petit 2004” it states, “Positive respectful and caring interactions between all the adults in the child’s world are valued as essential to the spirit, the flow and the quality of the program.”

    1. I read the article, “Engaging Families: Partnering in Meaningful ways” there are more similarities with your article. In my article, I read people can make stronger their relationships with love, care, and respect. They do not discriminate between gender and color.

    2. Khadii — Thanks for your comment in this activity. I will send you a Remind app message one morning — just because I know you are checking! You are the 1st person to mention the genetic connection in regards to family; I wonder, how important is genetics? It can be very stressful for families who have medically fragile children to leave their children with infant teachers; I wonder, how can infant teachers support families with the process?

  7. 1. The strategies from module 1 that are work is having a calendar with due dates and time management. Something that may need to be changed is trying to organize myself and getting better with multitasking. What I learned about myself as an online student is that it can be challenging because multitasking can be difficult when having online class, work and in campus classes.
    2. I define family as people who worry and care about us on a daily basis and people you can trust and go to when you have a problem. Family isn’t always people who have one’s same bloodline.
    3. The article I chose was Paula da-silva. I chose this article because it talks about how all families are different and not all families have a mother or father. I also chose this article because I had a friend who had 2 mothers.
    4. The strengths about the families is being about to face challenges together and grow together as a family and parents are able to continue learning as their kids grow.
    5. The challenges the families faces in the article paula da-silva is facing a lot of challenges for being a same-sex partnered families or single parent. For example in the article a parent did not want to be part of the class activity because the child has two fathers and the activity that was sent home to the child had a section that includes a “mother”.

    1. Yazmin — Thanks for your comment in this activity. Worrying and caring are part of my family, that’s for sure! Thinking about the challenges the family in the Paula & daSilva (2014) article read, I wonder, what could the teacher have done to create an inclusive environment? What did you see in the video that fostered inclusivity for diverse families?

  8. 1. How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working? What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class?
=> The strategy I chose “Time management” is working pretty well. I need to change my study plan. I need more focus on my study and deep thinking. I have learned as a student in an online class are I learn to manage my time and communicate with my peers.

    2. How do you define family?
=> I define family as a group of people living together, as someone who takes care of each other, and loves each other.

    3. Which article did you choose? Why?
=> I chose the article is “Paula & da-Silva (2014)” because I loved the book “Making Grateful Kids.”

    4. What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths?
=> In the article, “Engaging Families: Partnering in Meaningful ways” described that there are several options to build relationships between teachers, schools, and families. The video, “Our Family: A Film about a Family Diversity” showed love and unity. Dinah shared that she adapted to her family, but her family was happy and they love each other.

    5. What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face? Give evidence to support your answer.
=> I read a challenge in the article that families of mixed gender sometimes find it difficult to share and participate in their children’s school activities. (Supporting Gay and Lesbian Families in the Early Childhood Classroom, 2014).
In the video, “Our Family: A Film about a Family Diversity” I saw a challenge for a different color in the family. That’s why people struggle.

    6. Which model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 in Module 2 are the program staff using to work with families? Give specific evidence to support your response.
=> The model of programming the staff is using to work with families is communication. Communication is important to build a relationship. In the video, “Our Family: A Film about a Family Diversity” Avery shared, his grandparents come to his school and help him with the workshop. Also, teachers allowed the families to school and gave them chance to see what is happening in the school.

    1. Tory — Thanks for your comment in this activity. I wonder, can family live separately? Thinking about the Paula & daSilva (2014) article, I wonder, what did the teachers & school staff do that make the family feel excluded? Thinking about the video, I wonder, what did you see that made families feel included?

  9. How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working? What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class?
    – In module 1, I mentioned that I needed to improve my communication skills with professors and fellow students and following the strategies from videos from module 1, it is going good so far. I am communicating a lot with my professors and classmates compared to my previous semesters.
    How do you define family?
    – A family means being part of something wonderful. When I think of family, three words come to my mind unconditional love, support and belonging. A family’s love is unconditional as these are the people who accept us no matter what.
Which article did you choose? Why?
    – I chose the article “Profiles of Family Engagement Strategies”. I chose it because it is about family engagement and the strategies that make parents involved in their child’s life.
What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths?
    – The strengths I figured out is that families are encouraging their child to be familiar with others regardless of their color, race & background.
What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face?
    – One of the challenges that some families are facing is worrying. Parents are worried about how their child might see them or other parents.
Which model of programming from Baker & Manfretti/ Petit, 2004 in Module 2 are the program staff using to work with families? Give specific evidence to support your response.
    – The Model of programming from Baker & Manfretti / Petit, 2004 in Module 2 the staff is using to work with families is Family Model and best practices for working with families because they want to keep a safe and appropriate family dynamic throughout the entirety of their program, they want families and children to be as close as possible while actively involving the parents in every step of their child’s development.

  10. 1. something. i learn as a online student is that there can be times where you can forget to do your assiments it always good to put a little reminder .
2.a define family as a someone who always helps you in good and bad moments
    3. i chose the first article.

  11. 1- The strategy that i picked in module 1 is writing down things in my calendar so far i have been trying to catch up with assignments that I am missing. I am trying to do one subject each day which seems to be going every well for me i feel less stressed. What I’ve learned as a student is that i like in person classes then online because in person i feel more focus.

2- To me family means a place where you feel safe, loved and a place where you feel wanted and heard.

3- The article I choose is Paula & da-Sailva (2014), because it shows that love is important no matter if a parent is divorced or from the same sex. It gives a good example of love in general.

4- In the article, “Engaging Families: Partnering in Meaningful ways” it speaks about welcoming and accepting children with same sex parents which is important because if we want a healthy relationship with the family we need to accept them the way they are.

5-in the video “Our Family: A Film about a Family Diversity” shows different strengths that families have, the cases and scenarios that is part of a classroom.

6- a challenge that I saw in the article “Engaging Families: Partnering in Meaningful Ways” is when families are the same sex feel uncomfortable to be part of their child’s school activities “Supporting Gay and Lesbian Families in the Early Childhood Classroom (2014)”. In the video it shows the same struggles as the article which is feeling uncomfortable because they think they will be judged if they share in their child’s school.

  12. 1) The strategy I wrote down has been working but I kinda lost track of it , and I have to work on it again.
    2) Family to me means having the people you love becomes family and caring for each other and having each others support.
    3) I chose Jordan & Lee (2014) because it was a random pick and turned out to be interesting because it’s about family who has been affected by HIV/Aids, and ways on how to support children and families affected by them.
    4) one of the strengths I saw in the video was that all the families have each other to count on and that was enough for them and as long they they love and have one another.
    5) some challenges I saw was the same sex families having their child say that they have two moms or two dads. Also one family not having a father or mother being a single parent or having a grandmother.

  13. 1, The one strategy I am trying to work on is time management. Sometimes I lose track of time and I spend so Much time on one thing and then forget about the other or don’t have enough time to do another assignment.I’m still trying to work on time management and planning things and writing things down what to do each day.
2, How I define family is people that I can go to when I need help or I can go to for advice. My family is my siblings, animals, parents, grandparents,.
3, The article I choose is Welcoming Families With Children Who Were Adopted by Robin K. Fox. The reason why I picked this article is because someone in my family was adopted and I wanted something I can relate to. Adoption is very amazing and it gives families an opportunity to have a child that they can’t conceive on their own. Some women and some couples can’t conceive babies and it is very heartbreaking. And some children In the foster care don’t have homes and they really want some parents. Couples That can conceive children can adopt and love these children like their own.
4, Everyone has different families and everyone lives with different people and also children know what’s going on and if a mermaid and a lovely family come to school.
5,Sometimes it’s hard being a single parent and doing everything on your own. And if you only have one parent that’s there it’s kind of hard for the child

  14. 1. How are the strategies you identified in Module 1 working? What is going well? What may need to be changed? What have you learned about yourself as a student in an online class? Time management is something I need to work on. one thing I learned about myself as a student in an online class is you have to socialize with your classmates more.
    2. How do you define family? I define family as a tree branch of people you love and care about, and you all take care of each other.
2.Which article did you chose? Why? I choose Jordan & Lee (2014) because it helps me learn more about family bonding and how family oriented you can be.
3.What are the strengths of the families you read about and saw in the videos? How specifically did the families demonstrate those strengths? Give evidence to support your answer. The strengths I read and saw in the videos from the families is support. In the article it states ” open-door policy and encourages parents to participate in activities with their children and use the available program supports to better their lives and help their own families.” which shows a sign or support.
    4. What challenges do the families you read and saw in the videos face? Give evidence to support your answer. Challenges families face that I seen in the video is when there is only one parent involved in the child’s life it makes it stressful for the parent with no support.
