Before Class

This week we are going to talk about data and the JSON file format. We will start to look at how data can be used in your projects and think about what kind of data you might use.

WE will also go over the midterm presentations more as well.

Monday we will look at how you can use data on your page and do some midterm work.

Wednesday, March 24 at 7:30p–9:10p

Wednesday we will look finish up data files and look at sitemaps, wireframes and Style Tiles.

You should complete this in class. I would like for everyone to submit this before we go to break so I can look over them. It’s OK if you are not fully sure of your answers. Better to submit something so you can get some feedback before submitting and the presentation.

Midterm Questions

Midterm Post Starter Questions

  • Write in your name and if it is a group, all of the group members.
  • What is the name of your project? It’s OK, you can change it later if you want.
  • Write an overall description of your project.
  • What do you hope to accomplish with the project? Do you want inform people about something, entertain them, allow them to do something or make a connection…?
  • This is about Audience. Who are the people who will come to the site (age/gender/ethnicity, rich, broke, nerdy, cosplay obsessed, vinyl heads, health nuts etc.. There can be more than one type of person who will come.
  • This is about User Goals. What will they come to your site to accomplish? There can be more than one reason or different type of person who will come.

Assignment for the Week

For this week submit the Midterm questions above. Also see if you can complete the Linked In Learning videos for the week. When you’re done with that you can continue to think about and work on your midterm project.
