Godot Finalized

An environmental experience game themed from a Zen garden. This game took way longer than I anticipated let alone how I’d wish, but I am still satisfied with the results. Nonetheless, plenty of eye catching things and music to create an ambience that was calming for the player. I’ll upload screenshots and a video here too for reference. https://jamgbmcc.itch.io/zen-state

Godot .v3

A zen garden theme is what inspired me to make this level. As i go deeper and deeper into the making of this game, I learn more and more of what works from Cinema’s software over to Godot. Hence why the modeling is the main portion of the game this time.

  • Environmental items such as rocks, terrain patches and trees will have collisions applied later for better player interaction.
  • The dojo/house was exhibited in the playtest video but will be accessible through the “portal mechanic” later as a gateway.
  • Player’s speed & acceleration are not optimal currently and will be adjusted in relative to scaling of the overall level and assets later.
  • Lighting will be added for a night and day mode. Different days will be accessible via portal mechanic as well.

GODOT .v2

So for the second update on my godot project, I’ve had some major issues with collision properties before. By simplifying them in Cinema4d prior, it makes it easier for GODOT to read them as objects to place a collision mask on.

Added some lighting to the scene and mixed in a touch of ambient occlusion to set the mood and it’s one step closer to completion.

Coding for characters and portals will come later as there is a much shorter time restraint for this project compared to the others. One full detailed level might be the plan versus two low quality ones, but that is TBD.

Lastly, the textures are something I may have to apply directly in GODOT since some if not most, can’t or won’t load from Cinema4D, even after exporting.

Godot v.1

Hi all, here’s the first phase of my 3D game project. The setting/story themed after Fuedal Japan home/oasis in a way with maybe a shrine, temple and sand garden. Along with some other models like plenty of foliage, rocks and a sand garden.

Gamemaker Finalized

Here’s my game about an dimension traveling sphere. It uses crystals for fuel as you traverse all kinds of landscapes.

I received quite a bit of feedback after playtests. A few regarding visual constraints for the lava level which were completely understandable, and others…not so sensible. Another notable comment was the spacing of certain jumps throughout the game and the beginning enemy encounter difficulty for the first level.

LAVA LEVEL Notes

-Adjusted the spacing for one of the lava level’s floating platforms, that allowed the player to reach the highest point easier since, requests for a double jump were understandable but not possible due to time restraints.

-Changed the color coordination for the blocks used to stand on so it contrasts with the background, making them easier to distinguish without taking away from the theme overall.

MOON LEVEL Patch Notes

For the moon level, it was hard trying to find a happy medium since the idea of the double enemy was attracting but didn’t want to take away from player enjoyment. So, I removed an enemy in this case and added an enemy further into the level instead.

Notes

There were comments I can respond to that I was confused on so I’ll address them here.

  • There was a request for more polish towards the game. Not sure what this meant but sure.
  • The controls may have been confusing for some as the mention of the jump button wasn’t working but I wanted to give a friendly reminder, Spacebar is the jump button, not up. ^_^.

Feel free to play the latest version of the game here and thanks to everyone to trying it out! https://jamgbmcc.itch.io/dimensional-traveler

Gamemaker .v3

So, after trial and error for what seemed like forever, I finally got 2 fully established levels.

It was mentioned before but to summarize, my game is about a dimension or space travelling spere that uses crystals for its fuel. There are some iterations of assets I’ll have to reimage or swap later but the mechanics overall are set and ready.

Feel free to take a look at the what I have so far and, I plan to add at least 2 more levels down the line as well!

GameMaker Update 2

So, it took me some time as my previous stage of the game had to be scrapped unless I wanted to start playing around with Newton’s Laws and defying physics, so I just kept it simple this time.

My game is about dimension traveling sphere that moves through terrains collecting crystals for fuel to keep going. I plan to incorporate music per level since they’ll each be different from the last and help match the theme. Here’s what I have so far.

Game Maker 1

Here’s the character I came up with for my game maker. I’m still in the process of what kind of game ultimately but I do know I’m pulling inspiration from games like Galaga and Centipede. One for when the ship is idle and for when its being moved.

Bitsy Final Update

Hi all, and welcome to my game. The goal of the game is to move through each level by collecting the keys hidden within them. As you move through them, the levels become more intricate and difficult, testing your patience and dedication to complete the game.

Additionally, I made some changes via the very minimal feedback I was given, which, I appreciate. For room 7, I had the entire FITNESS GRAM PACER TEST linked to each false key, on PURPOSE, to really annoy and upset the player. And, judging by my critique received, it worked but as I don’t want to deter from replayability, I adjusted the dialogue so it’s shorter responses allowing for a quicker playthrough of that level. Thanks again and enjoy the final game here: https://jamgbmcc.itch.io/find-the-key-through-the-exit

Find Key, Through the Exit

I’m so sorry…

This game is really not for the weak. Meaning, as the game’s main screen states, it will test your patience, sanity and ability to think outside of the walls. The premise is just to collect the key and head to the exit. Some rooms make it obvious, while others do not. I take no blame for the chaos to be ensued Friday. Feel free to check my game out here: https://jamgbmcc.itch.io/find-the-key-through-the-exit Good luck to all!
