Making an effort to “do nothing” in the moment can be difficult, but it can help lessen daily worries. Mindfulness is the practice of being aware of where you are and what you’re doing, without becoming overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around you. You can reduce stress by consciously focusing on your state of mind.
When we practice mindfulness, we’re creating space for ourselves to think, breathe between ourselves and our reactions. During this time for yourself, pay attention to your feelings and let them pass.
