My long paper will consist of an animation film called Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. This film was released in Japan in the year 2013. This film was the first film to be a theatrical released in 17 years. Dragon Ball Z has a whole TV series franchise that I grew up watching since I was 7 years old I have grown to love this film because of the character name Goku who is the earth hero saiyan and became the strongest saiyan in his kind. Goku has taught me valuable lessons that to never give up and always be strong and get stronger. I grew to love the film but I also loved the fighting scenes, the power beams, and the different races. In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods I will be researching the making of this film, the story, animation techniques, and the color used, and I will analyze the film by comparing and contrasting previous TV series releases.

The movie I decide to pick is steamboat willie. I choose to pick this because I grew up watching Mickey Mouse it was the first animation I ever saw. Winsor McCay’s “Gertie the Dinosaur” is more of an interactive anime that gives the audience a sense of connection to the character “Gertie” and the setting is more stationed and not changing scenary. Emile Cohl’s “Fantasmagorie” animation is multiple short stories that are put together. The character is constantly changing and is a little confusing as to what is going on. Both are comical and have 16 frames per second in their films.
If I have been to Gaspard Robertson’s “Fantasmagorie” I think I would enjoy other people getting terrified because I am not that easy to scare I would be excited to see the show and I would definitely be laughing at other people’s reactions. If I ever got scared I would relate the emotions to the haunted houses during fright fest event.
Dragon Ball Super I think is the best anime I have ever seen, so much excitement where this character named Goku was born a lower-class sayian but became the strongest of all the sayians. I think I like it so much because I can relate to the struggles that Goku went through to become the best fighter. Dragon Ball Super was written by Akira Toriyama in 2015 and this anime is a sequel to the original Dragon Ball in 1984.
Hello, my name is Michael I picked this course because I’m trying to get classes that are animated-related, and saw that this class teaches the history of animation I thought this class would be a good pick versus the other options plus I am interested in what I can learn. My major is Animation and Motion Graphics so it makes sense to take this class and I also have the skill of drawing anime characters.
