In this unit, Unit 7: Ethics & Social Responsibility, we will explore the responsibility of organizations to operate ethically, and will work to understand the multiple sides of workplace ethical dilemmas. We will learn to differentiate between legal and ethical behavior, and review the difference and interconnectedness between individual and corporate ethics. We will review strategies management can employ to encourage ethical behavior, and identify common ethical concerns including bribery, conflicts of interest, and whistleblowing. We will also learn about how employee and customer perception of an organization can affect morale and bottom line sales.
By the end of this unit, you should be able to:
- Define ethical behavior
- Define legal behavior
- Differentiate between ethical and legal behavior
