I animated my depiction of how I observed people who were depressed around me. I often notice they try to imitate an overly joyous personality to get a break from their broken sad state. My biggest challenge was overcoming my personal relationship with depression to provide a bigger message for those who may need it!
Hi, this is the first animation I have created. I created this animation using Adobe Animate and using the shape tool with the Poly Star shape. Hope you enjoy!
Channel 7 News Station by Richard Bygrave (Spring 2025):
I used Audacity to complete my Audio Project. A dream of mines when I was young was to be a News reporter, this dream came because of the movie I am imitating within the Script, “A Cloudy chance of meatballs”. I used 5 different sounds that came together to make up my project, these included two different audios to build the introduction sounds, I used a breaking noise sounds, and I have a background soundtrack that fades in at the end to signal the end of the audio. Lastly, I used my own voice to contribute to the project by being the News Reporter and the Weatherman. I think the hardest part of this project was having the creativity to figure out if I wanted to do it and if I even wanted to continue the project after hitting a writer’s block.
This is my recorded audio from last week. I added a faster tempo to the beginning of my speech as well as to the end before the sound track plays. I wanted to add a bit of speed to these parts because I originally decided to slow it down for dramatic effect. I also adjusted the bass and tremble of my voice saying Breaking News, I think this added a cleaner effect to the overlapping voices.
I decided to create a news episode for my project this week, I got inspiration from my favorite childhood movie called “cloudy with a chance of meatballs”. I actually used part of the original script and put my twist on it, the voice audio is my original creation, I voiced the host and weather man. I also overlapped my voice with a breaking news voice to add more depth to the intro, and I used sound effects from Freesound.org to bring this idea to life.
In order to complete my final project, I reused the image I created last week in Photoshop. I created a pattern using some common elements from a popular anime “Naruto”, and I decided to add the words “Beat the Heat” because the setting of the image is a hot desert. The original background of the desert and camel was generated by AI.
I composed this illustration using photoshop. I started with the Camel peering at the vast desert and decided to add a Capybara on his back who is sun bathing. I used the brush tool to make the sun more vibrant and appear more animated, I also used it to add some color to the Capybara’s back and smudge it to make it appear as if he is apart of the picture originally. I used the smudge tool for the background in attempts to simulate a mirage affect and added a water source and tree for an extra pop of color.
Here are the links I used to create my composition.
I created this beautiful composition in photoshop. This was created using the shape tool as well as the marker tool, to create a abstract design. I think that this design is meant to help the audience to fall upon their own interpretation and to rely on their imagination to understand this subtle but unique piece. This was my first time using photoshop and really my first time designing a piece of art.
