The Portal of Memories

Spring 2025

Created with CSS/HTML, GitHub and Audacity

My website is intended to tell the following story: “After a long, exhausting day, you’ve drifted into a deep sleep. You awaken in a soft, glowing space—somewhere between time and memory. In front of you are shimmering portals. Each one leads to a moment from your past.” Using audio, images, soft fonts and edges, I encapsulated this landscape to the best of my ability, hoping to make each page as immersive as possible. *Enable audio playback in your browser, then refresh for the best experience!!!*

The Portal of Memories

Story summary

After a rough day you fall into a deep sleep, where you wander into a dreamlike time “HQ” where you can see past memories and visit them again first hand. Each portal you see allows you to visit a different memory. You wonder which memories you should visit.

Media

This will use a combination of audio and images to create the landscape for each memory.

Style

I intend for the website to have a dreamlike feel, using handwritten style fonts and soft edges to encapsulate the world you see to explore each memory.

Software

I will use Photoshop, Audacity, HTML/CSS, and GitHub.

My Final Website

Choose Your Own Adventure

Spring 2025

Created with HTML, CSS, and GitHub

In my choose your own adventure story, the reader can choose to be a leader or a follower. The reader discovers that they are apart of a group of people in a maze who must make a decision on whether to go left or right. Whether the reader has input on this decision depends on the role they chose, and what lies in each direction is to be discovered.

Mother Nature

Spring 2025

Software: Adobe Animate

I animated an encapsulation of mother nature, the day and night cycle. I used Adobe Animate with motion tweens to capture the transition from day to night.

My animation draft

Here, I animated joyfulness, using bright colors often associated with happiness. The final storyboard will most likely be much different, as I mainly did this to get a hand of tweens.

My Audio Final Edit

The Office

Spring 2025

Edited with Audacity

I used Audacity to edit a 1 minute mp3 of the ambience and sounds of a typical office workspace. I used various sounds like typing, mouse clicking, faxing, printing, doors opening/closing, and even a human voice to create the most realistic atmosphere possible. I used various audio filters, effects, and layering so all the sounds can be interpreted as coming from the same space.

Audio update with effects

I modified the first printing sound to be longer, and added an extra fax ringing and printing sound towards the end. The ending sounds were modified using the delay, pitch, and speed effects to make it sound unique compared to the ones played in the beginning. I added the extra sounds to make the entire audio clip more “full”.
