For my final project I chose to animate the emotion: Pain. I chose the colors and shapes to resemble a girl stepping on a thumbtack and screaming “ow!” I tried to make it longer so that you can see what’s happening, Tween helped to make the transitions smoother. The most challenging part was making long enough frames to really capture its moment. It was more time intensive, animating wise, but it was very rewarding visually.
The emotion I chose was: rage. More specifically, MY rage. That’s when I am very upset but eventually die down just as quickly as I started. It’s like a burst of anger. It’s like everything is terrible but in a split second, everything is now fine. The rage always feels like it lasts longer than it actually does.
This is my first gif. I call it “Busy Bee”, as you can see a bee was so busy and tried from their day of distributing pollen that they had to take a nap.
Hopefully, I was able to make you feel like you had just walked into a fast food/ restaurant. This is what my day used to sound like: coffee dripping, chairs scratching the floor, a million customers, some top 100 song playing, the door opening, the register, pestering Uber eats delivery men, my coworkers complaining, etc. My time there (fast food) is over now, and although my office job may now not be as lively as before, my new sounds of printing, shredding paper machines, water dispensers and computer clicks are more my speed.
With this post I wanted to not only focus on the personalities of my “customers” but also the vibe of the store. Until I started working in an office I didn’t realize how many sounds I no longer hear in a day. The white noise of constant conversation or footsteps because someone is always walking somewhere. When you could only hear the music in the store, that’s how you knew it was a slow day. Sometimes my office job now drives me a little crazy with how quiet it is. The constant noise can be comforting at times, especially on the days when you don’t want to focus on the bad things. Working customer service, you get about 2 seconds to process anything before the next character (customer) comes around. Fun times.
With this audio I wanted to show how chaotic it is to work in a chain fast food restaurant. I’ve had a couple fast food jobs and it some customers are…. interesting characters. I’ve never seen people be so comfortable with any reaction they see fit in public than when I was working fast food. The customers pay the bills, but not my therapy. Even so, working fast food (customer service) was some of the most fun and funniest work experiences I’ve ever had. Good coworkers can really save your day.
For Project 1, I was reminded of my wonderful time in Spain. I went there to visit a friend for my birthday and it was a time I will cherish forever. My birthday was in March, but we were in the south of Spain so it was warm. It felt like this image. For this image I combined two of personal pictures. For the pattern in the title, I used a pattern I found on some tiles at the Alhambra.
I wanted to showcase my ride or dies. I was inspired by the comic books and Charlies Angel’s and Mission Impossible. In some very corny way, no “Mission” is “Impossible” with them. The photos I combined are of us (of course) and an old screenshot. If you’re in trouble, call a BADDIE.
I have spent my past couple of weeks obsessing over Minecraft and nature documentaries. I have been looking towards longer forms of calm entertainment, and I have landed on nature documentaries and Minecraft- creative mode (easy). I’ve been very busy recently, so to ground myself, I always go back to my simple pleasures. This is a combination of the two.
