Channel 7 News Station by Richard Bygrave (Spring 2025):
I used Audacity to complete my Audio Project. A dream of mines when I was young was to be a News reporter, this dream came because of the movie I am imitating within the Script, “A Cloudy chance of meatballs”. I used 5 different sounds that came together to make up my project, these included two different audios to build the introduction sounds, I used a breaking noise sounds, and I have a background soundtrack that fades in at the end to signal the end of the audio. Lastly, I used my own voice to contribute to the project by being the News Reporter and the Weatherman. I think the hardest part of this project was having the creativity to figure out if I wanted to do it and if I even wanted to continue the project after hitting a writer’s block.
This is my recorded audio from last week. I added a faster tempo to the beginning of my speech as well as to the end before the sound track plays. I wanted to add a bit of speed to these parts because I originally decided to slow it down for dramatic effect. I also adjusted the bass and tremble of my voice saying Breaking News, I think this added a cleaner effect to the overlapping voices.
For the final version of this recreation of a day spent composing in my room, to add more realism to the editing process, I unified the voice sections into a single track and applied layering to adjust the vocal dynamics. I also added an extra instrumental track, edited with the same layering technique. Additionally, I used this tool to balance some incidental sounds that were too loud during the composition process for a more cohesive result.
for my final audio project I decided to go a bit more in depth about what’s comprised of MMA and some of the controversial factors summed up in a brief conversation.
I used Audacity to set a scene of someone in the forest starting a fire after a day of rain. I used bird noises as they always chirp before the rain, then rain noises, and then after it clears the fire noises. I also added an owl to simulate nighttime and music to set the scene. I used ambiance reverbs on the music and owl, and added fading in and out to each sound. I adjusted some sound levels and used layering and mixing to the music and fire starting to make everything sound complete.
I had fun playing with Audacity, I would like to use it for more projects! I added some more EQ and echo effects to specific parts of my vocals to give more of that spacey feel in the original Japanese song.

So, for my audio project I did a video games theme. What I did was combine different video games audios into different levels, with a levels sound effect, and use a couple of sound audio effects
For my final edit of my audio I finally fixed one of the background audios that went on longer than the other audios that I did not catch early on. I also tried to go for a more hyper-pop type of sound for this audio but it did not come out that way so instead I tried to go for a more overwhelming + overstimulating sound. I changed the volume for my third audio, making it loud in the beginning but then having it go lower as the audio goes on because I did not want to make it sound too unpleasant to listen to. The sound did not change much because I did not want to go too off the rails from the way it initially sounded.
