Extra Credit Post B: Erikson Scenarios

Erikson believed there are 8 psychosocial stages that people have to pass through during life.  For each stage there is a crisis.  The outcome of each crisis/ stage impacts future stages.  The first stage for infants (0-2 years old) is trust vs. mistrust.  The second stage, for toddlers (2-4 years old), is autonomy versus shame/ doubt.  What does autonomy mean (search the internet if you need to)?

First, read through the scenarios on each card.  What psychosocial crisis is the child facing, according to Erikson?  What psychosocial outcome does the scenario promote (trust, mistrust, autonomy, shame/ doubt)?
