In Segment F, we will focus on two units of study: Unit 11: Operations Management & Unit 12: Introduction to Human Resources.
In Unit 11: Operations Management, we will explore this core component of every organization. Regardless of for-profit or not-for-profit status, size of the organization, and type of product or service sold, each organization aims to do things as efficiently and as effectively as possible.
In Unit 12: Introduction to Human Resources, we will explore the HR function and seek to understand the importance, structure, and responsibilities of Human Resources. There are several aspects of HR we will identify and discuss: staffing, training and professional development, safety, benefits & compensation, diversity & inclusion, and employee and labor relations — we already learned a bit about employee relations when we discussed Ethics earlier in the semester.
