What Home means to Me

This image I created is what home means to me, being in my own place with my family. My boyfriend and my son. Spending every day of my maternity leave at home with my son waiting for his father to come back home from work to spend some time together watching tv, playing music, playing games or just staring at our baby. Home are the people I hold close to my heart, a place or thing that brings me comfort, love and happiness.

My Social Distancing Piece

The artist that inspired me was Will Hillenbrand his art piece called, Winter into Spring, Cathedral Light. His piece of nature reminded me of my window view from my living room. To me it is a beautiful view since I moved from living in front of a building. I did a drawing piece of what I see when I look out of my window, to me it is a calming sight to see especially when the sun starts to set. This view is my first image of my first apartment that I am proud of. A place were I spent my time at home during covid.

My Found Object Art

This is my baby Mickey Mouse. I used white paper, my sons mickey mouse milestone head shape , my sons bobo, two quarters, two pennies, my glasses and my carmex’s cap. These were loose objects I found around my house. Things that me and my son use daily.

The paper was for the background/base.

The milestone head shape was to make a head.

The coins were used as eyes.

My glasses were used as glasses

The Bobo was used as a Bobo to be around the mouth area.

& The top was used as a nose.

My Leaf Study

My little sister choose the bigger leaf for me on our walk back to my house from the store and I picked the little leaf as a symbolization of me and her big sister and little sister. For me I noticed all the vines each leaf has and how hard it would of been to draw them, their different margins, the bigger leaf had smooth margins with  multiple tips and the smaller leaf has little margins like m’s then I noticed the symbolization of me and my sisters relationship me as her older sister she picked the bigger leaf and her as my little sister I picked the smaller leaf. Neither of us realized until I did the assignment and she asked me how did it come out and I came to the realization. For this piece of art I used a pencil and crayons (white, brown, black, red violet)
