Hi everybody! My name is Karim Muasher (he/him) and I’ll be facilitating your learning this semester. I’m looking forward to meeting you! My family is from the Middle East, I was born in Amman, Jordan to a Jordanian father and a Lebanese mother. When I was just a baby we moved to Norfolk, VA and went back every summer to Jordan to stay in my Teta’s (grandmother’s) house. I now live in the neighborhood of Jackson Heights, in Queens, in New York City. I’ve been here for over 10 years and don’t think I’ll ever leave, BUT you never know!
I’m a teacher (here and at Pace University and Roundabout Theatre Company), as well as a theatre maker (I direct and perform). Hobbies: I play the mandolin, read, hike, cook, and spend time with my sweet dog Molly.
Something you might not know about me by looking at me is that I LOVE CHRISTMAS. Gift giving is my love language.
I’ve grown more and more comfortable with public speaking over the years, but I want you to know that I STILL GET NERVOUS. And it’s ok if you do too.
Also: I have a hard time sitting still, I’m definitely a person who likes to physically engage with the world and others. It’s one of the reasons I do meditation, so I can balance that impulse out with some stillness.
Hey, my name is Joel Gomez, im from Ecuador but raised in New York city. My major is art and my career plans is to one day make comic style books or play in the major leagues baseball. Some of my hobbies is reading, working out, playing video games. Something you might not know about me based from my looks is I like to draw and sketch.

Hey everyone my name is Hezekiah but y’all can call me Hezzy and my preferred pronouns are he/him/hims. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and I’m current living in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I am business management major and I want to become a sports agents and preferably in futbol. Something you may not know about me by just looking at me is that I played football during high school. In regards to public speaking I know I’ll get a little nervous a first but I easily get comfortable. I love listening to music.

Hello everybody. My name is Brendan Crowley (he/him), I’m from Boston and am currently a first year student pursuing a human services degree. At this point in my life, hard to say exactly what my hobbies are. I try to maintain a reasonably active social life, I bike, read, and go to the movies. I also spend a lot of time not doing anything. With regards to public speaking, I’m actually pretty comfortable with it. It’s been a very helpful skill, actually. I’m looking forward to the class, and hope to improve my public speaking skill-set.

I was born and raised in Manhattan New York City, my ethnicity is Cuban and Puerto Rican.
My major is Multi Media Programming and Design. My career plans are to eventually become an expert in my field.
My hobbies include hiking, photography, and trying out new types of foods that are way out of my comfort zone!
Something you might not know about me just from looking at me: I used to run track and cross country, and i was also born on friday the 13th.
My comfort level in public speaking is.. i get really nervous that i could feel my heart beating. it’s very uncomfortable and difficult to manage.. but i’m trying to overcome that!
Fun fact about me, is in 3rd grade, i ended up running into a wall while playing a game called steal the bacon, one of my shoe laces became untied and some girl tried to tag me (lightly tap my back) before i crossed the line. she accidentally stepped on my shoe lace and i just ended up running straight into the wall, breaking both of my wrists and bruising my lips and nose. i had to wear casts on each on my wrists for two weeks straight and was excused for all homework during that time!

Hi everyone, my name is Aliza, and my pronouns are she/her. I was born in Pakistan and moved to the USA almost 7 years ago. I am currently living in Brooklyn and at BMCC I am majoring in Liberal Art, but I plan on changing my major after this semester to Criminal Justice. I am nervous about this class because of my Invisalign, I got them almost 3 months ago and it is hard for me to speak sometimes with them. My hobbies are I love trying new looks with makeup and I love listening to music. I am a cat lover and I have a cat; his name is Coco and he’s the cutest little thing ever.
