Isaiah Davis MMP271 Final Blog Post

Gameplay

The player must traverse through an indoor office area to find a green orb that takes them to an island very far away.

Here is the Splash-screen:

This brings the character to an indoor setting where they must use keycards to find a green orb hidden in one of the rooms.

For this, I was inspired by my experiences with both retail and office work. I’ve also always enjoyed the horror genre and have been fascinated by low-poly horror games. As I continue my game development journey, I wanted to experiment with elements of the genre I love so much.

Once we get the green orb, we are teleported to the next scene

Here is the script for the orb; it references a script called the “Gamestate,” which is my global script, as well as an interactable script made to handle the interactable aspects of the game:

Interactable Script

This resource helped me a lot while creating the scripts for the game:

After collecting the Green Cube, the player is transported to an island scene to explore the scenery and collect flowers. It is rudimentary, but it is a manifestation of the freedom of the system that requires constant routine, collecting flowers instead of keycards.

Here is the Node Setup for this scene :

For this project, I used a mix of Assets I made myself as well as asset packs from https://kenney.nl/assets

Final project documentation

Link to game: Foggy maze Remaster by robbiery

I decided to make my first project more complete, as it used debugging textures that you would never see in an actual game, so despite being more polished than my other two games (level design-wise), it did not look that way. On top of textures, I added SFX for movement and a splash screen.

I attempted to add a checkpoint as a goal marker, but it does not trigger. It’s meant to have an idle animation, a trigger animation, and a sound effect when triggered. I thought this was the biggest game missing from my first project, as there’s little indication that the player has completed the game when they reach the goal. It’s said in the game bio that the goal marker is another green room, but those who get confused easily might mistake the starter room for the goal.

Final Project

“Meadow” Is still the same game- however, I’ve updated it to take place during the night, instead of day. The goal of the game is to collect 20 apples. It is supposed to be relaxing.

Now there is more atmosphere. I added fog and star sky HDRI.

Video playthrough (turn brightness up to see everything)

If you download and play the game from here, you will be able to hear a footstep track and a repeated music track.

There is also a UI welcome screen.

Sally’s Final

I decided to redo my maze assignment by adding boxes to be picked up by using “f” on your keyboard!. Try not fall off or you will have to go back to the first maze!

maze 1 & 2

Maze 1: is a easy find the 4 boxes while trying to get out the maze. Maze 2: Jump untop of the leaf platforms to collext the other boxes.

Maze 3 & 4

Maze 3- Some of the floors are false you step on one you will fall and will have to go back. Two different color boxes to put the boxes in the right color! Maze 4: try not to touch the floor! It’s like a mini obby!

PS. on maze 4 find the false wall to enter the Maze 5!

Maze 5- climb up to grab the final box!

PS. if you can’t pick up the boxes that’s alright! Just try finding all 10 boxes!

This is my Final project  I’m still working on. I built a Chinese-style town where people sell vegetables on the street. Now, some mice are stealing the food, and the player needs to stop them. It’s not finished yet — more features will be added later
