Hi Holly, I am also worried about keeping up with classes this semester! I am getting a head start like you and doing as much as I can before the official start of school. I also have a planner and will use a white board to help me keep track of everything. Good luck this year!

Hi Holly, I love the fact the you said you love helping children with their social and emotional growth. Sometimes as adults we forget that children have emotions. It always important to check up on a child’s emotional growth because it helps them understand the works of life and the world. I hope to learn more about this topic in this semester.

Hi! My name is Jacinda. I have always loved being in the presence of young children. Their resilience amazes me every time, it is my favorite thing to experience. This semester, I am hoping to expand my knowledge on the importance of art eduction and the impact is has on young children’s development. I am looking forward to the many art related, hands on projects we will engage in. This school year I am working full time and taking on a full time school schedule. Knowing this, my main concern is time management and being able to complete all my work in a timely manner. An interesting fact about me is that I grew up in Jamaica and spend most of my free time (which is not a lot), reading books!

Hello, Jacinda! Your idea of using a whiteboard is probably going to be very effective at keeping you on track! I, too, think the hands-on art and creativity of this class is something to be excited about! Look forward to meeting you! Enjoy the remainder of summer!

Hi Jacinda! Time management is always hard with a full schedule and working! I am doing the same! Hopefully you will have professors that are understanding if you need extra time and I also find that using a planner helps keep me on time with assignments. I wish you the best for this semester and the coming ones if you continue!!

    Hi class, Hi Professor.
My name is Nana, I am from Country Georgia and this is my real name. I know, It sounds like grandma or nanny, but in my country it’s a very popular name and sounds exactly NANA, but you can call me as you feel to call me, and in any pronunciation, I love my name.
I have always loved children, I love playing with them, being with them, getting to know the world seen through their eyes and perceptions. They call everything by their names, they easily find an explanation that amazes them. I, myself, want to be a bridge between them and the real world.
For this semester, I want to improve myself, try harder and be more independent. Finish the class with success and have much more knowledge.
My goal this semester, and not just this semester, is to learn more about children and be a professional educator. I love the ides that we may do a lot of art projects, handicrafts the will expand our knowledge.
I didn’t expect we will have in person classes, and it changes a little bit my plans. for instance, I am a full time worker and I have a certain concern whether I’d have enough time for reading and writings assignments, in case the time table is charged.
I am working in a daycare and it is my pleasure everyday to discover meanings of what I have learned. Now I realize and understand much more about kids, their personality, skills, emotions and their social role than anytime before. I see everyday how kids are developing new skills. and I am aware of their milestones.. As a side hustle, I am an actress, and I appeared in a few shows, albeit for seconds, but mire than twice and I am very happy about it.I also, work part-time at a bridal store in the alteration department. Right now, I feel myself very proud!
Good luck for all of you and It’s very nice to meet you.

Hi, Nana! I love your reasons for wanting to be an educator! I also was hoping to not have in-person classes, but it’s a short class and I love the ability to do work on our own, to fit with our schedule. What shows have you guest appeared on? Albeit is one of my favorite words. 🙂

        Hi Holly,
Thank you for your comment. “Albait” in my language ( in Georgian) has almost same meaning and it sounds as ” albat”. I appeared on show “Hunters” (for one second with slow motion) and “Tommy” tv series. 🙂

        Hi Pamela,
Thank you for your comment. My acting experience really helps me with kids. Reading a book or playing with them always goes with acting and playing some characters and they are much more involved.

Hello, Ariel. Excellent and reasonable goals. I have a tendency to wait till the last minute to do things, but I’m going to work on changing that this semester. Would love to hear some of your food recommendations!

      hello Lesly,
It amazes me how much of us in the comments grew up taking care of family members or friends being young ourselves. Congratulations on your baby, it must feel amazing to become first time mom! Children are very smart since the day they are in a mommy’s stomach. Babies learn how to recognize your voice, they way you laugh and even the way you breath. I also am looking forward to growth in all way forms such as in the mind and spirit.

    Hi Ariel,
What good experience have you had with your nephews. I think such an experience gained with family members will teach you a lot, which will be very useful in the professionally. Also, I wish I could complete all the assignments on time and not have to ask for an extension.

    Hello,
My name is Mariana. Growing up in a big family drew most of my attention into teaching young children. As first generation, it was always my duty to try to help guide my younger sister in school. I had nieces and nephews all around the same age that lived with me as well and we all went to the same Elementary School/Middle school. In this semester my main goal is to expand my understanding of how young minds work in school. School can be a difficult environment for some children and it can affect their way of learning and other classmates’. I hope to learn how to help families and their kids during difficult times in school and outside of school when I become a teacher. In ECE 211 I am looking forward into working with with other classmates in groups to share our experiences. What I am most concerned of is falling behind in class work when most needed. One thing about me is I am the first women in my family to ever finish high school and entering College.

Hi! My name is Pamela Fuentes, but you can call me Pam or Pamela. Either is fine! I was working at a school since 2017 until this summer, so four years now, and it really solidified my goals of becoming a teacher. For this semester, I hope to expand my knowledge and understanding of young children that will help me to become the best teacher I can be. I hope to learn how to navigate through different situations presented in an early childhood classroom. I also hope to learn how to create creative and interactive activities and lessons. I am most looking forward to learning what I’ve mentioned and to meet other classmates who share an interest in a similar career. I am most concerned in not doing well in my classes or falling behind, but I know i will work hard to ensure that doesn’t happen. This is my second to last semester and I hope to continue doing well!

Hi my name is Jonette and I go by the name Jo-Jo. I don’t mind being called Jonette or Jo-Jo they both are me being me. It has always been my passion to work with children, even when I was young myself, I am just in awe at them and their personalities and how cute and adorable they are.

My goals for this semester is to learn how take what I learn here and combine it with my passion, and to then take it and use it in the filed of work that I started last week. I hope to learn about child development and meeting them where they are at. How to connect with the little one through education and activities.

I am looking forward to learning from my Professor, as well as my classmates how this course can help me. How I can make a difference in a child’s life. How can I reach them no matter where they are in their level of understanding.

Fear of failing or adding too much to my plate. I work full-time, also have ministry duties and I am a full time mom.

Although I am enrolled in this course to be a teacher for little ones, I am a ministry leader for age 3-4’s, as well as a Sunday school teacher, for the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. I have been working in this ministry since 2013 or so. I just love all the children I had the pleasure to teach and share with them the love of Jesus.
