CUNY & TheDream.US Immigrant Student Events

In partnership between CUNY & TheDream.US, two events will be hosted for prospective, current, and past CUNY immigrant students. The first event will be dedicated to current and graduated undocumented students navigating their career opportunities. The second event will be dedicated to guiding prospective students and students interest in applying to CUNY & TheDream.US scholarship.

You are welcomed to participate in these events regardless of immigration status and get as much help and information as possible!


For Current CUNY Students and Alumni:


UndocuCareers – NY & NJ Career and Networking Session

Date and Time: February 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in Baruch College

This event is open to everyone regardless of immigration status!

This networking session will feature panelists who have navigated their careers in varying immigration statuses. Panelists will include individuals who are entrepreneurs, consultants, and interns with variety of experiences including navigating careers while being undocumented or preparing for removal of DACA. The event will also provide some information of Individual Tax Identification Numbers and resources to help you navigate these opportunities.

For Current and Prospective Students:

TheDream.US Scholarship & CUNY Application Party

Date and Place: February 14, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. in Guttman College

In partnership with Guttman College, CUNY is hosting a hybrid Application Party for immigrant and undocumented students looking to apply for CUNY and TheDream.US Scholarship. TheDream.US scholarship is a scholarship that awards students up to $39,000 to attend a CUNY campus.

Join to submit your full application before the deadline (February 28th!), meet current Dream.US scholars, and get the answers to all your scholarship questions.

Spring 2023 Excelsior Scholarship Application

The Spring 2023 Excelsior Scholarship Application is now available for new applicants! Find out if you qualify for the Excelsior Scholarship and apply by the deadline: February 9, 2023:

*For Non-FAFSA filers (Dreamers, undocumented, other students): To be considered for New York State financial aid awards like TAP or Excelsior, you must apply through the Jose Peralta NYS DREAM Act Application.

Winter 2023 Funding from ASAP

Interested in enrolling for a Winter course at BMCC? You may qualify for funding from ASAP!

Winter 2023 funding from ASAP includes the following:

  • ASAP Winter Tuition Scholarship: covers the cost of qualifying tuition (not covered by the Pell Grant)

To qualify, you must meet the below criteria:

  • Actively participating in ASAP  
  • Registered for a winter course approved by your advisor (applicable towards your program of study according to DGW)
  • Submission of 2022-2023 applications for FAFSA and TAP  
  • Non-FAFSA filers: submission of TAP via the New York State DREAM Act

Funding for a Winter session depends on your attendance in the classes you are enrolled in. Dropping or withdrawing from classes may reduce or cancel your award and result in a tuition balance owed the college. If you are no longer interested in attending the Winter session, be sure to drop the course by the January 2nd deadline: https://www.bmcc.cuny.edu/academics/academic-calendar/winter-2023/
