Need help with filing for the new 2024-2025 FAFSA Form?

We’ve got you covered! The CUNY Financial Aid Support Team (FAST) provides students with support to complete the FAFSA, TAP and DREAM Act applications! With CUNY FAST you can receive 1-on-1 text support with a FAST Coach or you can attend a virtual or in-person CUNY FAST event.

Spring 2024 ASAP Textbook Funds

Now that the Spring 2024 semester has started, make sure to sign up for a direct deposit to receive your financial aid and tuition refunds, including the Spring 2024 ASAP Textbook Disbursement much faster!

There are multiple benefits when you sign up for direct deposit, such as that it can eliminate the chances that your refund check might get lost, misdirected, delayed during delivery, or misplaced once you receive it. It also removes the need to visit your bank to make a deposit physically. Additionally, there are no fees from CUNY when signing up for Direct Deposit. If you do not sign up for direct deposit, your refund check will be mailed to the address found in your CUNYfirst account.

Get your Textbooks at the BMCC Online Bookstore!

With the Spring 2024 semester starting soon, courses may have required textbooks and ASAP can help you with that. Make sure to access your ASAP Textbook Funding via the BMCC Bookstore with this guide!

Additional Tips:

  • While making your book purchase you will have the option to have the books shipped to your address or pick-up. If you choose to have them shipped you will likely be charged for that, but store pick-up is free.  
  • If you go over your balance or purchase something not allowed by your ASAP book funding, you will have to pay it with your funds. 

Fall 2023 ASAP Textbook Direct Disbursement and Direct Deposit

CUNY offers Direct Deposit for students to receive their Financial Aid and Tuition refunds, including the Fall 2023 ASAP Textbook Disbursement!

CUNY & TheDream.US Immigrant Student Events

In partnership between CUNY & TheDream.US, two events will be hosted for prospective, current, and past CUNY immigrant students. The first event will be dedicated to current and graduated undocumented students navigating their career opportunities. The second event will be dedicated to guiding prospective students and students interest in applying to CUNY & TheDream.US scholarship.

You are welcomed to participate in these events regardless of immigration status and get as much help and information as possible!

UndocuCareers – NY & NJ Career and Networking Session

Date and Time: February 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in Baruch College

This event is open to everyone regardless of immigration status!

This networking session will feature panelists who have navigated their careers in varying immigration statuses. Panelists will include individuals who are entrepreneurs, consultants, and interns with variety of experiences including navigating careers while being undocumented or preparing for removal of DACA. The event will also provide some information of Individual Tax Identification Numbers and resources to help you navigate these opportunities.

TheDream.US Scholarship & CUNY Application Party

Date and Place: February 14, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. in Guttman College

In partnership with Guttman College, CUNY is hosting a hybrid Application Party for immigrant and undocumented students looking to apply for CUNY and TheDream.US Scholarship. TheDream.US scholarship is a scholarship that awards students up to $39,000 to attend a CUNY campus.

Join to submit your full application before the deadline (February 28th!), meet current Dream.US scholars, and get the answers to all your scholarship questions.

Spring 2023 Excelsior Scholarship Application

The Spring 2023 Excelsior Scholarship Application is now available for new applicants! Find out if you qualify for the Excelsior Scholarship and apply by the deadline: February 9, 2023:

*For Non-FAFSA filers (Dreamers, undocumented, other students): To be considered for New York State financial aid awards like TAP or Excelsior, you must apply through the Jose Peralta NYS DREAM Act Application.
