Abstract:

In this project, a method is presented to reconstruct top quark pair events during the Run-3 of the Large Hadron Collider. This algorithm is designed to perform the full kinematic reconstruction of high-energy collision events between protons at a center of mass energy of 14 TeV. The method is tested using previously recorded data by the ATLAS detector in order to validate its feasibility. The proposed method will be implemented in selection analyses and reconstruction procedures in the future in order to improve the precision of several top quark measurements, such as spin correlations or W boson polarization in top quark decays. This increase in sensitivity will significantly improve the search for new anomalous physics effects beyond the Standard Model of particle physics.
