Shadowing is a very important aspect of the medical school application but due to the ongoing pandemic, a lot of undergraduates have been denied this opportunity. Join us tomorrow in the virtual shadowing event as we highlight a specialty spotlight; General Surgery and Obstacles to Medicine. Dr. Mohamed Fakih a general surgery resident will be presenting on his academic journey and the path he took to becoming a physician.

Join us this Wednesday as we review the application process for a pre-med mentorship program designed to supplement students’ academic trajectory as they pursue medical school admission. This program provides its students with different opportunities like networking with professors with medical expertise, mentorship, virtual shadowing activities etc. 

In this workshop, you will learn about the different ethics in medicine raging from the four principle of medical ethics to other regulations like HIPAA. Ethics is a very important aspect of medicine as it involves the different morals and principles all physicians must follow. Join us this Wednesday as we explore these principles. 

Learn about the first critical step of emergency care: triage. When faced with a waiting room full of patients, how does a capable emergency department doctor decide whom to treat first? What happens when a patient’s condition changes? Or when more patients show up?

Once again we will introduce the society’s mission statement and discuss the different opportunities available to you. Finally, to start off the semester, we will be playing a game “Jeopardy”. It will be based on Physics, math, biology, chemistry and organic chemistry, This will be a team effort and it will be fun.
