Please note that the exam is due by midnight on the last day of our 5-week semester: next Tuesday, August 19th, 2025.

That is the deadline for any additional discussion board posts or reading response papers as well.

As always, if you have any questions, please email me.

Last two modules have been posted

Hi class,

This coming week we’ll be working on the last two modules of our short summer semester:

Next Saturday, I will post our Second Exam, which will follow the same format as our First Exam.

First Exam related information

Hi class,

I have finished grading your first exams. Couple of things to keep in mind.

  1. If you wrote your email address on your exam paper, you should have received a link to your graded exam, whereby you can view your grade and my comments.
  2. If you DID NOT receive such an email with a link to your graded exam, that means you forgot to write you email address on your exam paper, and thus I was unable to email you. If you want to see your graded exam, email me and let me know.
  3. If you DO NOT see an exam grade on your Brightspace page for this class, that most likely means you submitted your exam in a format other than Microsoft Word (.DOCX). For example, if you submitted your exam as a PDF of any other document type, I will not read it, which means you didn’t get credit for your first exam. In this case, take a look at your exam paper and if you send it to me in a format other than .DOC/.DOCX, resubmit the exam in the correct format, and send me an email that you have done so. Then, I’ll be able to grade your exam.
  4. IMPORTANT: The First Exam can be rewritten for a higher grade. If you would like to rewrite your exam, please go ahead and do so. Upload it, and send me an email letting me know that you’ve rewritten your exam.
  5. NOTE: Exam responses that contained 1-3 sentences lost credit. You are expected to write more than that on your exam. Each question should be in paragraph(s) form. Please ensure that you don’t submit any rewritten responses that contain 1-3 sentences…
  6. If you have any questions about your exam, or if you don’t see a grade for your exam on your Brightspace class page, please let me know.

New modules posted for next week

Hi class!

Starting on Monday I’ll be reading through your First Exam, while you’ll be working on our two new modules:

Don’t post work on modules that have not been assigned by me

Hi class,

I have noticed that a few students have attempted to complete Module 7. I have not officially posted Module 7 yet for this week – I will later, on during the week.

You should be focusing on your exam, and not rush through it.

Students who clicked on the Module 7 link and completed it, will not receive credit for the work, since they’ve posted on the wrong, and inactive, version of this class website.

Once I officially announce that Module 7 is available, those student should re-post their work on the correct Module 7 page.

Please do not rush and complete modules that have not been assigned by me.

The First Exam has been posted!

Hi class,

This week you’ll be working on our first exam. Please take time to write it as it is worth a big part of your final course grade.

IMPORTANT: Answer should be LONGER than 3-4 sentences per question. You should be writing multiple paragraphs per question.

Here is the exam: https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-e051-introduction-to-american-government-5-week-summer-2025/module-10-first-exam/

Note, you also have an additional module to complete by next Sunday, but I will post that module early next week. For now you should just concentrate on the exam.

Here are our modules for next week

Hi class,

While you’re working on Module 1 and 4, I’ve just posted our two modules for next week:

Please remember that we have a short 5-week session, so things are moving fast. Next Sunday, July 27th, I’ll be posting our First Exam…

As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me at: aartinian@bmcc.cuny.edu
