I have noticed a number of students attempting to submit discussion boards as COMMENTS underneath my discussion board assignment posts (for example, underneath Discussion board 4.1).

This is incorrect.

Discussion board assignments are submitted by creating a POST. Instructions on how to do this are in my video, located on the bottom of Discussion Board 2.1.
