This is the idea so far for my garden game i was thinking of making some floating islands that connect to other islands that display forgotten objects and stuff left behind as well

Some updates for my garden game~

I found some garden assets, including a bathtub mesh. I want to add old pieces to this, but I don’t know how to properly texture something like a bathtub to look worn and old. The idea is to create a small pond inside the tub, with some plants growing inside, like lilypads.

Added more rocks and trees and reintroduced fog. Some of the assets I downloaded come with textures and materials, but I’m not sure how to apply them (will ask in class).

Added some omni lights to create a night-garden vibe.

Moving forward, I’d like to learn how to make some of my own assets, like lamps, more plants, pathways, and miscellaneous objects.

Blog Post 3 & 4

I decided to do a abandoned garden! Trees out grown and house abandoned and big statues abandoned! I download and add the outgrown trees!

Then I decided to add big statue of big bunnies on part! But then I didn’t like it and change positions!

I moved the bunny make them hidden in the outgrown trees. I added white houses to that part instead!

Then I decided to play with the lightness to make it darker! I also added my player but I am having a bit of diffculty with the placement of the character!

Blog Post 3 & 4

Blog Post 3:

I am working on my garden game project. The theme is a nighttime or evening garden (I haven’t fully committed to a mood yet) where you can walk around and interact with objects. Right now, I’m working on showing the player around so they can see different trees and plants.

At first, I was using more detailed assets I found online:

As you can see, it has minimal lighting to give off a nighttime vibe.

Blog Post 4:

However, I decided to turn up the brightness, remove the fog, place more plants, and design the space to see more easily while I continue developing this. So, for now, I have it as a brighter environment. I also replaced the plant objects with low-poly plants I found online, as I’m enjoying that aesthetic more for this game.

I plan to reintroduce the moody lighting, but for now, I am working on placing and organizing all of my objects.

Godot Game Progress

I made more progress on my Godot game, added more terrain, and created a bridge over a river. I still need to add more models to make the world more interesting.

This week, I’ve been focusing on trying to create a few models to scatter around my scene. I’m working on a large tree in the center of the scene surrounded by flowers. My progress is above.

Godot Project 2

I started work on my second project in Godot. I created a simple landscape using imported models from Sketchfab. The concept is not fully developed, but part of the environment will take place in a forest.

Week 2 Progress – Maze demo

I scrapped the last idea completely, for this demo I decided I’d make a maze with multiple floors. It works a bit like Snakes & Ladders in which the player navigates from one floor to the next, with some rooms containing pitfalls to the bottom floor. The fog is supposed to prevent the player from being able to easily tell which hallways lead to rooms with platforms and which rooms have holes.

This demo recording features a room with platforms and a room that is meant to be a pitfall. (Apologies for the lag, my PC isn’t very good.)
