Athena-Blog post 6

Over the past two weeks I reworked my idea of what to do for this project. While I did want to find cheese as a detective, I seem to notice I couldn’t really figure how to make the player larger which resulted in a smaller pov and gave me the idea of what if we played the rat instead. Some things I tried to fix but just can’t seem to figure out is the script for the UI and the sound effects of object being picked up. I hope to solve these in class before submitting it.

Scavenger hunt game, project 3 – Concept

I’ve decided to do a medieval-themed scavenger hunt game. The setting will take place in a forest or meadow, with medieval items scattered throughout. It will be relaxing, casual, and easy-going. Right now, I’m using apples as the item to collect, but I plan to add one or two more collectible items.

Here are some images to serve as a mood board:

Some inspiration for my collectibles:

Here’s the progress I’ve made on my scavenger hunt game. I’ve added more sections to the corridor as well as two rooms. I also introduced a new area to explore, and I added an animation to the collectible.

When it came to the getting ideas for the Scavenger Hunt. It took me a while to get an idea that I liked. The Idea I wanted for the Scavenger Hunt is two floor building with no door on the first floor. These two floor will have different themes. I want to give it a creepy theme. To be able to leave the building you have to go all the way ontop and jump down to the grass. I was thinking of maybe collecting books or letters. This is my idea for now. I decided to build the building for now.

I worked on adding a mini city as my environment and will probably expand it more. I was trying for a long time to get the collectible script to work but keep getting this error that the video doesn’t have at all, so I’m not too sure on what to do to fix that. The theme of my project 3 was finding the missing cheese in the city that rats have stolen. Thinking of placing the cheese’s scattered across everywhere.

I’ve started working on my third Godot project, which takes place in space and revolves around collecting parts to repair a spaceship. I have implemented the collection system, found models, and started to design the environment.

This Week, I began importing some assets for a scavenger hunt scene into my game. I imported a small building and also began adding some chests and rocks. In addition to this, I created a model for a key that I will make a collectible.
