Here is the final version of my character walk cycle. I added a subtle vignette to give the animation a more sinister feeling. Also, I changed he font of the text as suggested; I decreased the text size of the credit; and I animated “Animation by Javier Chen” with the “Animate” feature applying opacity. Each letter appears one after another that seems someone is typing it. Lastly, I added a typing sound effects for it.
Improved Character Walk Cycle
I added the effects of rain and thunder with sound effects. I played around with the brightness for when the lightning comes in. I also added all the credits of the sound effects and music I used.
Character walk cycle
Here the result of combining everything in After effects. I changed some things in the background. I changed the color of the sky and the clouds because they looked bright and happy, but I wanted something more sinister and evil, so it goes well with the personality of the character and the music. I also added a little intro and the credits at the end.
Background
This is my background of a soccer field for my character walk cycle that I created in Illustrator because of the advantages of the align tool.
Walk cycle (Revised)
This is the revised version of my walk cycle. I have enjoyed working on this despite having challenges of not having the ideal equipment to work on this project. Because of this, I have learned that there are other tools in Animate that can be used to keep this project going.
Walk cycle
This is a draft of my walk cycle. The ball may seem to have an unusual movement but this is because the character is still in a position, and in order to get to the ball, the ball has to move back and forth to give the illusion of movement. The behavior of the ball will look more natural when I add a background that pans in the opposite direction that the character is moving.
Here is an example of why the ball moves that way.
Storyboard
This is the storyboard for my wall cycle, though I plan to add more than just a walk cycle before and after the walk if I have extra time. The transition effects and music are elements that I have not decided yet what to use. But I will figure out in the process.
Character design
This is Kirai. He let his anger and rage consumed him into darkness. This happened because his parents were killed when they were leaving a soccer stadium by a professional soccer player, who went crazy after losing a soccer match. Kirai got into soccer and has been training since then with the hope to run into that professional player in a soccer match and get his revenge. Kirai met a coach who offered him the power necessary by injecting drugs in him to achieve his goal. Kirai accepted, which let his humanity go away.
Surprised flour sack animation
For this assignment, i went for a surprised flour sack. I applied most of the 12 principles of animation. the challenging part was to draw the frames between the key poses while trying to respect the physics of the flour sack.
Rainy Day – Animated Loop
There are so many things that loop. I probably changed my mind more than five times because there were so many options to choose from for this assignment. At the end, this is what I went for, a woman who is sitting on a sofa by a window with a cup of hot chocolate on a rainy day accompanied by her cat.
This is the reference I used.
