I will hold open writing time for anyone who wants to come and work on their projects. I will bring writing prompts if you need and will be available to answer questions– but mostly, we will just sit together and write. TODAY, Thursday 4/22 12:00-1:30 PM, Zoom link here
Ashley Diamond is a Black, transgender woman, and prisoners’ rights activist. She made national headlines in 2016 for her landmark victory against the Georgia Department of Corrections. Ashley has since been re-imprisoned because of a technical parole violation and is currently incarcerated at Coastal State Prison in Garden City, Georgia. Her situation is urgent. She has faced repeated sexual assault and denial of healthcare, which has only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Free Ashley Diamond was created to raise awareness about her case, provide her with support, and ultimately free her from prison.
This week, the campaign is asking supporters to take a different action each day. Today, the action is letter-writing, to send Ashley messages of support. More information and registration is here
