From reading all these texts a theme that they all talk about is women’s equality and how it’s unfair the way their being treated. As we all aware man tempt to dominates women when it comes to power use. A man rather leads and wants women to follow along without complaints. But there an end to everything, today you can tell me what to do but the next I meant to disagree. and from that day on that’s when I will fight to make a change.

Based on these readings, the primary issue that concerns feminists in the late 1960s and early 1970s was the women’s expectation to follow one path. They expect females’ to get married at a young, start a family, and apply for her role in life as homemaking. At the time society did not expect much from a woman because she’s there for her husband or children. Being someone’s wife means you are spending almost 24 hours straight on domestic chores. Individuals’ wives did not have control over anything and were subject to their husband’s heads and master laws. Wives did not have any rights to their husband’s property or earing while husbands do have control over theirs.

An author called Maynard wrote a piece called “The Politics of Housework”(1970) and part of it states, “What? You say this is all trivial? Wonderful! That’s what | thought. It seems perfectly reasonable. We both had careers, both had to work a couple of days a week to earn enough to live on, so why shouldn’t we share the housework? .So | suggested it to my mate and he agreed most men are to hip to turn you down flat.” This is something that’s a concern to me because back in my Country Niger, Females believe that there no such thing as a wife helping their husband out with bills it’s all on him. His money is her money, but her money is not his. I don’t understand why is it like that when we both are couples.

The Abolition movement focused on giving laborers their freedom and also hope to end social discrimination and segregation between individuals such as white and black. While on the other hand, the Women’s movement fought to provide women the right to vote. The relationship I see between the women’s movement and abolitionist movements is that they both fight the unfairness they face in society hoping to make a change.

When Discuss the two versions of the speech by Sojourner Truth seems like they’re all connected in some way. The speech by Frances Gage expresses more feelings and sadness in the story. While on the other hand, the speech from Marius Robinson expresses desire and anger. These two speeches show us that there two different types of emoting we get from each of them.

A quote that stands out to me stated, “You need not be afraid to give us our rights for fear we will take too much, for we can not take more than our pint’ll hold.” This quote stands out to me because it says even if society decided to erase unfairness in the community women will be nowhere near a man.

The author Frye talks about “oppression” is greater than a word itself. All sex, male and female have face oppression in their lives. Oppression is hateful or unfair treatment of power. While the word “frustration” is an emotion that people experience when they cannot achieve their goals. In Lorde’s essay, she tells us that oppression can escalate from one to the other. According to the essay she states, ” Within the lesbian community I am Black, and within the Black community I am a lesbian. Any attack against Black people is a lesbian and gay issue because I and thousands of other Black women are part of the lesbian community. Any attack against lesbians and gays is a Black issue because thousands of lesbians and gay men are Black.” This quote shows how the word oppression can attack multiple groups at once. I agree with Lord because she talks about how different groups can relate to each other.

Patriarchy is a social system where males are the central authority figures. Up until today United States shows a male dominate society. This also helps us understand that sometimes males feel protective but they don’t want to show weakness in giving up their title of mal privilege. As it even stated in the passage, “Some of the time, men feel defensive because they identify with patriarchy and its values and don’t want to face the consequence there produce or the prospect of giving up male privilege.”

Ijeoma A. and Pascoe write about expectations that are placed on girls and boys, respectively. Man is empowered and expects women to tag along. Back in my country, I have witnessed how they treated females because men were overpowered back then. My mom wasn’t allowed to do anything without asking for permission from the boss which was my father. That was shocking to me, and that’s something I will never miss use just because I am in the hold of it.

Db1:

The first term “feminism” wasn’t used to refer to men being the target or in other words them being the enemy. All these three words “feminism”, “sexism”, and “Gender and women studies” are fighting for the same purpose but because of media individuals misunderstand the big picture behind it. According to the reading it states, “They know from mass media that women’s liberation focuses on the freedom to have abortions, to be lesbians, to challenge rape and domestic violence. Among these issues masses of people agree with the idea of gender equity in the workplace — equal pay for equal work.” This quote states that we are not seeking just for women’s equality but for everyone else whether your male, female, heterosexuals’, LGBDQ, etc…..

It was obvious that men wanted to lead and make women follow along but everything has an end to it. According to Bell Hook “famines” and “sexism” almost mean the same thing, but the overall idea is not to exceed man particularly but to be equal. While on the other hand, Audre Lord talks about how it’s not just about different sex, there more to it. Age, race, class, etc.. are also conflicted societies. I agree more with Lord than Bell because the majority of society is not aware that when we talk about the word “feminism” we are not just referring to one group but the whole community.

I am really glad I got to read the passage even though I am a little behind since I am getting used to this new system. But this got me thinking about the word, “feminism” even dipper. I quote that grab my attention was, “Even though individual black women were active in the contemporary feminist movement from its inception they were not the individuals who became the “stars” of the movement.” Since I started learning about the feminism movement they made us believe that it was mostly colored women who were fighting for equality but in reality, other groups were involved.

Hi! my name is Hamidou Soumailou and I am from west African Niger. I moved to the United States in 2016 when I was 16 years old. It was hard for me because my parents stayed behind. I went to High school and it was called Brooklyn International High School. Got bullied multiple times during my first year there, wasn’t a good experience. I pray no one has to go through the same adventure I went through. My aim for this semester is to focus because last semester there were a lot of things going on in my life but now I am stable.

I have a calendar I always try to follow. Saturday’s is called homework day and Friday’s is called fast food. Every Friday I will head to the Popeyes near my house and get that big size family meal just for me. People in my family think I am crazy but I do not pay attention to them. Most of my school days off I am often at work because I like to keep myself busy all the time. I love playing soccer but it’s too cold for that right now. One thing I love to do is help people out when there in need.
