Hi all,
For my final project I’ve decided to create a zine where I interviewed a few friends (and myself, I guess!) about their experiences with feminism. I apologize for the messy upload, but I can’t figure out how to condense into one PDF. I look forward to presenting later today and hearing your thoughts!
Final Notes (Full interview text in this file)
Missing page, “Shishi, are you a feminist?”
For my final project, I’ve decided to construct a zine similar to those I grew up with. I chose the format because it reminds me of my own early experiences with the idea of feminism – which I feel ties back to the main theme of the project: peoples’ ever-changing ideas around the concept of feminism. My goal is to provide a piece of art that is both informative and engaging.
I think that right now, the layout works well. I am trying to keep it uniform enough where all of the information included makes sense, and the zine itself is consistent enough to keep the viewer interested.
I need to work on incorporating/referencing class texts. I have a few printed out and highlighted that I think will make sense contextually, but because the bulk of the text is interviews, I need to figure out how to put them in without seeming out of place or thrown in haphazardly. I plan on including opening and closing pages that give more context to feminism/my own views, so the zine doesn’t just open to random photos/quotes.
