Nastassia Molicheva Discussion 2

In order to explain the concepts, I would choose the Genderbread Person diagram. I believe it shows that the concepts of gender expression, sex, attraction, and identity clearly and provided some explanations as well. The graphic is easy to understand and doesn’t carry too much information which allows it to be understandable for adults and children alike.

Here is my diagram:

a Venn diagram of Nastassia's identities

The groups that have influenced me the most are: Humble Upbringing, Democrat, and Art Lover.

My humble upbringing allowed me to have values of being careful with money, grateful for what I have, and being a minimalist. At the same time, it might be challenging for me to communicate with people who are complaining without taking any action or are wasteful with money and resources.

Being a democrat, or more so, a human of liberal views embraces my values of equality, feminism, and environmental protection. Therefore, I would have problems supporting racist, anti-egalitarian views, and the belief of some people that climate change is fake.

As an art lover, I value the variety of visual perception of the world that is available to me, history knowledge that comes with it, and the opportunity to express myself through art. I don’t really think I would have any problems communicating with people who do not share the same values, however, I don’t think I would be able to have a deep connection with them.

  1. Hello Nastassia,
Thank you for sharing your post. I felt very comfortable and at ease reading your identity map. The use of smooth colors and shapes shows your creativity and simplicity. Art has been a big part of my life. I love antiques and collecting art walls and painting as well. We also share the democrat’s beliefs and ewe both embrace values of equality, feminism.
I love the part when you said ”values of being careful with money” if everyone can plan their finances wisely, our economy will be in better shape and we won’t have that huge gap between poor and rich people.
looking forward to more of your posts.

  2. Hello Nastassia,
I love your diagram! It is clear and concise, and I can see how one identity relates to another. I can definitely relate with humble upbringings and totally agree with having difficulty communicating with those who complain about taking action and are not cautious with money. I guess certain things are a luxury for us, and we grow to appreciate the small things. However, that is not to say that we can not learn different perspectives from someone with different views. Looking forward to seeing your creativity throughout this course!

  3. Hello Nastassia,
Your diagram is beautiful. Being humble is very important and I am glad you mentioned it and went into detail with it. I believe that our values are very important. Being responsible and being grateful is key to being successful, I have seen people who are not responsible and just waste money to buy expensive things in order to look like they have money instead of being humble and accepting certain things. Like you mentioned people need to take action instead of complaining.

  4. I also chose the genderbread diagram. I love that it was easy to understand and basically straight to the point. I appreciate your diagram being very descriptive, it really tells your story.

  5. Hi Nastassia, I love your diagram I when seeing and reading it I feel calm and at ease and it’s easy to read and understand which is a plus. The fact that you explained and mentioned being humble is very important and I’m ecstatic that you bring it up. Through the graph I could see and tell how creative you are as well as just how simplistic it is and enjoy your discussions.
