Greetings, Scholars!
Welcome to ECE 211 Curriculum for Young Children I. I am Professor Reich-Shapiro and I’m looking forward to a an exciting semester with you as we virtually explore how to create developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum for young children that integrates literacy and creative arts into every aspect of learning.
This semester, we are going to be using both BMCC Open Lab and Blackboard for different purposes:
Weekly Assignments and Readings will be posted on BMCC Open Lab. This will be our virtual meeting space in addition to our Zoom meetings.
Culturally Responsive Teaching Essay, Learning Environments Project, and Curriculum Web. Activity Plan and Commentary will posted on Blackboard.
All emails for this course will be sent to your BMCC email, so be sure to check that regularly.
Your first assignment for ECE 211 is to:
- Upload a photo of yourself as your picture in “My Settings” on the Course Profile Page of Open Lab.
- Email me at mreichshapiro@bmcc.cuny.edu with your preferred phone number and a backup email address.
My office hours for Fall 2021 will be on Zoom, Tuesday, 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
