  1. My friend should choose program B. She should choose that program because there is one less baby to be with one teacher. Instead of four, there will be three babies. It also focuses on relationship based practices which are important for babies. They need to feel comfortable and trust their caregivers to be able to grow and develop properly. The babies will learn to trust and feel secured. The program will help babies grow feeling safe around those who care for them and who meets their needs. Babies will grow feeling loved instead of wanting to harm themselves due to the lack love one shows them.

  2. 1) Which program should your friend choose? Why?
My friend should choose program B because this program for one has a ratio of 3 babies to 1 teacher. This gives the daycare the opportunity to focus more with each baby individually to create a relationship. It is important for teachers and babies to build a relationship because it is their caregiver that they will learn to trust.
What will the baby learn in the program?
The babies will learn to trust in those who care for them which will help them to adapt to be comfortable. They will learn attachment. Learning attachment is important because caregivers will notice that the baby is building a connection with their caregiver. This connection helps the baby develop in ways on how to care and love which sets them up for a healthy future such as not feeling emotions of depression because they were neglected as babies. Being a great caregiver matters because they are the ones who help to shape the babies lives forever. Ignoring a crying baby would impact their life in an unhealthy way.
How will the program help the baby grow and develop?
The program will help the baby grow and develop in ways that would benefit them for a life-long term. It positively impacts their physical health. When being the caregiver of a baby, what’s interesting about childhood development is that if we ignore the importance of building a close and trusting relationship with a/your baby, you are affecting their health. This behavior can really lead to health issues such as cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular can lead to chronic inflammation and when you expose children to traumatic events, it is hard for the cortisol response to fight off infection. Therefore, when a baby is exposed to traumatic events in their early stage life their inflammation level is slightly high so it is very important that caregivers keep this information to help the baby develop physically, mentally and emotionally healthy.

    1. Which program should your friend choose? Why?
    2. What will the baby learn in the program?
    3. How will the program help the baby grow and develop?

    1. Answer: Since my friend will be having a child that is around 4-5 months I believe my friend should choose program B just because around that age is the most important stage for an infant. they need nothing for support around them around that and the ratio with just 3 children will work perfectly.

    2. Answer: the child will learn from the program’s relationships with others learn how to trust people, learn how to not just be around its mom or dad or family members. But even for the caregivers, they get to develop a deeper understanding of each child’s unique interests, needs, cues, and temperament, which increases your ability to give sensitive, high-quality care.

    3. Answer: Stimulation helps to engage them mentally, helps develop their senses, and is something that every baby needs. Stimulating your baby’s senses will enable them to reach developmental milestones faster, as well as aid in the development of motor skills.

Which program should your friend choose? Why?
I would prefer her to choose program b because it focuses on the development of relationship and teaches the baby how to connect with there caregiver. Also there’s only three babies and the caregiver can spend quality time with her child.
What will the baby learn in the program?
The baby will learn how to connect and bond with there caregiver. The baby will learn how to trust there caregiver and the baby will be able to identify who is who.

    1. Lacoys — Thanks for your comment! You included info from Hohmann & Epstein (2011) in your response! I wonder, how does your response connect to the video and Power Point? Why is it important for the teacher to have time to build a relationship and meet the needs of each baby? Why should the baby feel safe and comfortable? What exactly causes the babies to become more physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy?

  6. 1. My friend should choose program B. She should program B because building relationships and attachments is vital to a child that age. That 3 to 1 ratio allows the baby individual needs to be met and “The basic attachment theory, caregiver are emotionally available and give children a sense of security , which infants learn caregivers are dependable, realize the world is safe and predictable and explore and learn from their environment”(power point slide4) This creates trust from any early age.
    2. The baby will learn in this program Trust.
    3. This program with help the baby healthy social/emotional development, develop problem solving skills, exploring and discovering the world and feeling competent and capable (power point slide 9)

  7. 1. With a young infant, I would recommend my friend to go with program B. The ratio of children and teacher is a good way for all 3 of the infants to receive attention and support.

    2. What the Infant will learn in Program B is relationship between the teacher and their parent. It will enable their trust towards their caregiver and teacher including understanding their emotions.

    3. The Program will help the infant develop social/emotions skills, and communication. It will help them start to use communication for their needs and wants. With emotional, it grasp an understanding of whats causing that emotion.

  8. Which program should your friend choose? Why?
My friend should choose program B because it focuses on relationship-based practices and has a of ratio 3 babies to 1 teacher. because is important for infants to have in the early stages of their lives. it helps them build healthy attachments to parents/caregiver which will help with their future relationships and how they relate to people socially and emotionally. Also having less of a ratio from babies to caregiver helps to give each child more individual time with their caregiver which will build health attachments.

What will the baby learn in the program?
The baby will learn secure attachment and trusting their caregivers to respond to their needs in a gentle and caring manner. Which in result will help the child to grow and connect with other people around them.

How will the program help the baby grow and develop?
The program will help babies to grow in trust with the people around them through secure attachment. While developing a sense of love and care with their caregivers. Which will help the child cognitive development and how they perceive the world around them.

    1. Jasmine — Thank you for your response. Why is it important for babies to have more individual time and to develop healthy attachments with their infant teachers? I wonder, how does your response connect to the readings, video, and Power Point in this assignment? Why is it important for babies to build healthy attachments and to have individual time with the teacher? How do secure attachments help babies to grow and connect with other people? I wonder, what comes first — trust or secure attachments? How does secure attachments and trust connect to cognitive development?

  9. Which program should your friend choose? Why?
I would advise my friend to choose program B because it is easier for an infant teacher to focus on your infants needs because there will be only 2 more infants in the room. It is also more likely that the two will have a comfortable relationship. The prgram is also based on relationships based practices which benefits the child in feeling secure.
What will the baby learn in the program?
The baby will learn different ways to communicate their needs to the infant teacher. They will also learn how to trust another person and develop a safe and secure relationship. In the article it states ” Children use the secure attachments they form with their primary caregivers at home as the basis for forming attachments with other significant adults in their child care settings” which supports my idea of infants creating the same bond with parent to teacher.
How will the program help the baby grow and develop?
From different readings I’ve learned that because program b focuses on relationship based practices I know that these ways of teaching babies they are more likely to be successful in different areas of their development. They will know how to effectively communicate their feelings and be emotionally intelligent.

  10. 1:Which program should your friend choose? Why?
I believe that my friend should consider choosing program B. Program B
provides a curriculum that focuses on relationship -based practices, with this being said this program is going to focus on making sure they are building trust with not only the child but with the families.
2:What will the baby learn in the program?
In this program the baby will learn that their needs are being meet. We know that babies seek interactions. The baby will learn that they matter and will form trust and a healthy relationship.
3:How will the program help the baby grow and develop?
This program will help the baby grow because a caregiver will be using the 3 Rs constantly the baby will feel safe and secure and will explore the world around them smoothly. The babies will know that their caregivers will be there when they need them.

  11. If my best friend has a young infant and her maternity leave is over and has to return to work, I would recommend Program b. The curriculum in the infant classroom focuses on relationship-based practices and the ratio is 3 babies to 1 teacher. One less baby offers the caregiver to give more attention to each baby and meet the babies need. This leads to the baby developing trust and security, as discussed in the PowerPoint. The baby will be able to learn and explore their environment knowing there in safe hands. As well as lead the baby to learn healthy social/emotional development, feel competent and capable, and develop problem solving skills. This curriculum also supports the attachment theory and how essential a bond with a caregiver is which is something this curriculum can offer.

  12. Which program should your friend choose? Why?
-choose program B. They have a great ratio of 3 babies to 1 teacher which is great for the babies because they can receive all the support and attention they need.
What will the baby learn in the program?
-the baby will learn how to be comfortable with caregiver and how to trust people other than the mom.
How will the program help the baby grow and develop?
-help the baby develop life skills and have a sense of love and care.
